When for casual dinner and got pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty! The fried chicken really stole the show. The flavors were rich and the chicken was deep fried but not too oily. The beancurd was alsomy favorite as the sauce has a hint of tomato but very refreshing and light. The pomfret fish was so fish eve though it is fried, the meat was firm and juicy!
Very relaxed dining area with plenty of seats and quiet by the roadside. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!

Food ordered:
Prawn paste fried chicken
Deep fried pomfret with black bean sauce
Hot plate beancurd
Fried bean sprout with salted fish
Chai poh omelette
Coconut juice and aiyu jelly

Seng Coffee House offers comforting flavours with creative twists. The crab meat pasta is more tangy than buttery, staying light on the palate while still rich in seafood depth. The ginger rice stands out with its charred aroma and spicy kick, though a bit more meat would have rounded it out. Dessert was a pleasant surprise — the fried coconut ice cream stayed perfectly frozen and paired well with the moist banana walnut cake, even for someone who doesn’t usually enjoy coconut.

The Cordyceps Flower Kampung chicken soup is pure gold, with a rich broth and tender chicken. The signature jade tofu was super crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, with a exquisite flavour.

The Collagen Fish Maw Soup was the highlight of the dinner. The rich texture of the fish maw pairs well with the flavorful abalone broth. With two big abalones, plus the added benefits of cordyceps and red dates, it’s not only tasty but also nourishing.

The Cucumber in Vinaigrette is also a fantastic starter! It has a nice balance of spicy and savory flavors, and the crisp cucumbers make it really refreshing. It reminds me of that viral cucumber salad and is perfect as a light dish to share.

Jumbo Prawn Mee is a “must-try signature” on the menu that comes with three XL-sized prawns sliced in halves. The only difference is the size of the prawns while the noodles remain the same as others in terms of the portion. The prawns were fresh and came off the shells easily with firm and bouncy meat. The broth was full-bodied and flavourful with a pleasant crustacean aroma. It is even better when sprinkled with their homemade chilli powder. A simply hearty and satisfying bowl of prawn noodles 》$15

Came by Tan Ser Seng for dinner and was surprised by how crowded it was despite their location. Ordered their Cordyceps Chicken Soup, and Ginseng Black Chicken Soup. The soups were both extremely tasty and rich. You could tell by the thickness and umami that they boiled these for a long time. The chicken in the soup was super soft as well- it falls right off the bone. This might be one of the best herbal soups we've had. Ordered some sides to go with our meal, and they were so well made too. Particularly loved their fried prawn rolls. Will definitely return here for a dose of hearty soup for the soul.

Honestly, I had the best ginseng chicken herbal soup at Tan Ser Seng. The soup was super flavorful and generously filled with herbs. I didn’t expect the chicken to be fall-off-the-bone tender, which made it such a delight to enjoy.

The tofu and Ngoh Hiang also stood out to me, I’ve never had this kind of texture for Ngoh Hiang skin before. I absolutely loved it alongside the sesame sweet sauce. Super hearty, especially on a rainy day!

Side note: the staff here are super friendly as well, super attentive and kind ◡̈

My partner and I finally got to try this restaurant after hearing many good things about it. We ordered the Charred, Chick & Claypot and the Spaghetti al Granchio to share. The Charred, Chick & Claypot came with a generous portion of deliciously baked chicken, charred rice and expertly crafted chilli and ginger sauce. It also came with the chef's own chicken consumme to pair with the dish! The chicken was well seasoned, the rice crispy, and the chilli and ginger sauce really helped to alleviate the flavour profile of the dish. The rice had a nice ginger fragrant to it, with thin slices of sinful crispy chicken skin scattered within. The Spaghetti al Granchio was delightful. The flavour profile was light and does not get cloy. It came with a huge portion of crab meat was fresh and paired wonderfully with the sauce.

We ended off the dinner with Fried Ice Cream and Banana Cake. The crispy exterior of the batter paired well with the smooth creaminess of the ice cream wrapped within. The banana cake was flavourful and left us wanting more!

This place definitely lived up to our expectations!

Had dinner here with a friend on Tuesday evening. We ordered the burger (which comes with fries), truffle fries, and claypot chicken rice. Highlight of the night was the claypot chicken rice, which came with chilli and a shot of chicken broth separately on the side which was quite unique. I especially liked the crispy scorched rice at the bottom which gave an extra layer of texture. Would recommend.

Solid satisfying dinner with nice and cosy setting. Porridge was comforting and food was tasty. Had the salted egg pork ribs, which was tender and flavourful! Claypot brinjal, with that wokhei infused into the dish, crispy Teochew prawn rolls, fluffy minced pork omelette, but the star dish was the Deep Fried Pomfret with Black Bean Sauce- well fried, and fins so crispy like crackers. Not too salty as well. We will be back!
