For a soup lover like myself, this restaurant hit the spot! We ordered the Cordycep Chicken and Fish Maw soups, which were packed with herbal flavour. We initially ate the soups together with the yam rice, but realised that the rice was seriously underrated as a standalone dish, especially when paired with the chilli sauce.
The side dishes were impressive as well, and shows how well-rounded this restaurant is. The Jade Tofu was silky smooth with a crispy crust, while the Omelette was fluffy without being too oily, and topped with fragrant pickled radish.
Overall, a great choice for those looking for their herbal soup fix!

Clam Chowder 3/5
I dropped by Tan Ser Seng Herbal Soup for weekend lunch and it was packed with both locals and tourists. Every table had their signature dishes like the radish omelette, prawn rolls, jade tofu, and of course the herbal soups. I tried the cordyceps flower kampung chicken soup and loved how the broth was rich and smooth without being too heavy. The chicken was tender and fell right off the bone, and the jade tofu was crispy outside, soft inside, and great with the sweet-spicy sauce. It is a must-go place for nourishing soups and nostalgia flavours of home-cooked meals.
This place was amazing! I got the white chicken and fish maw soups and they were so delicious. The fish maw soup was so rich and tasty, and the chicken was basically fall off the bone.
Besides the soups, the side dishes were amazing as well. I really recommend getting the prawn roll.
Also, the service here was really good. The staff were so attentive, and they gave us a free refill of the fish maw soup.
I’ll definitely want to come back here again! (Esp since it’s so convenient and near Aljunied MRT)
Ordered a couple of dishes but my favourite was the Collagen Fish Maw Soup — rich & flavourful with tender fish maw and abalone (plus 1x refill!! 🤤). Loved the Prawn Roll as well!! Crispy outside with juicy filling and whole prawns inside.
Finished every last drop of the hearty soup. Really energised me after a long day of work and chicken is sooooo tender!
I visited the restaurant for lunch on a weekend, and it was packed with locals and tourists. Every table was filled with their signature dishes such as the aged preserved radish omelette, handmade prawn roll, jade tofu, and their best-selling chicken and turtle soups. The collagen in the cordyceps flower kampung chicken soup added richness and a silky, smooth mouthfeel without being too cloying after a few more sips of the soup. The chicken thigh meat tasted fresh and off the bone tender. The jade tofu was perfectly fried, soft tofu wrapped with a crispy savory exterior, and it is well-complemented by the sweet spicy dipping sauce. I would definitely return to give their turtle and fish maw soup a try.
Visited for dinner last weekend! Got two soups and two dishes for my partner and I. Staff were very friendly, knowledgable, kind and helpful! The entire experience felt homey, from the location, to the staff, to the food.
I definitely recommend everything we bought!! We got the black chicken soup, fish maw collagen soup, ngoh hiang, tofu and yam rice!
Initially, my partner and I bought 1 bowl of yam rice to share to compensate for the many dishes we got for just the two of us. However, the yam rice was so good and pair so well with everything that we ordered an extra bowl 😅
Highly recommend having dinner here!! Everything was so good and hearty. Will definitely be back!
love the chicken soup, and their other dishes are fragrant and delicious as well. they only serve limited bowls of the chicken soup a day — chicken falls off the bone and the soup is boiled for long hours.
Our craving for herbal soup was satisfied at a well- ventilated coffee shop setting, welcomed by friendly staff.
The cordyceps white chicken herbal soup was flavourfully prepared with surprisingly tender chicken. Paired with the fragrant yam rice, it was simply appetizing.
The robust ginseng taste from the nourishing ginseng black chicken herbal soup was another comforting soup which leaves us wanting more.
To complete our meal, we sampled their freshly homemade prawn rolls & signature Jade tofu. It was certainly a satisfying, wholesome meal which made our mother & daughter bonding moment a happy one.
finally got to try the herbal soup from tan ser seng!! although this place is famous for their turtle soup, we were not as adventurous to try it. instead we ordered the Cordycep Flower Kampung Chicken Soup and ginseng black chicken soup and they were both amazingggg!! so if you’re like us, looking for some nourishing classic herbal soup that will soothe your throats and warm your tummy, here’s the place for you.
Cordycep Flower Kampung Chicken Soup - is my personal favourite!! the collegen soup was packed with flavour, its like drinking the collegen soup from beauty in the pot but with so much more depth. the chicken was also surprisingly tender. the meat falls from the bone and I did not even have to put in much effort to get the meat off of the bone.
Ginseng black Chicken soup - if you like the taste of ginseng then this soup is for you! with each scoop of soup you can taste the dense flavour of ginseng and the familiar taste of herbal soup so perfectly infused. like the kampung chicken the meat was so tender making it easy to peel it off the bone.
a special shout out to the yam rice! one of the better yam rice I’ve had. the umami taste of the rice will fill your mouth and you can help but to keep going back for more. it also goes so well with the soup complementing the meal.
we were also pleasantly surprised with the bonus sweet treat! there were 5 flavours of ice cream to choose from to end your dinner on a sweet note.
Overall rating of this place is a solid 4/5 stars, especially if you’re a fan of herbal soup!!
The unusual Indian mee siam I've waited more than a decade to try. The main difference is the gravy is creamy and drinkable. Delicious overall, but I should've picked a better cut of mutton. I consulted the boss for fatty mutton and he gave me the leg cut, which was tendon not fats.
