Won my heart as a soup lover:) Loved the cordyceps white chicken soup most as the meat was tender and broth was slightly collagenous. Jade tofu was also a must-order for me as the tofu was soft and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, paired with flavourful chilli on the side.
Firstly, such amazing service from the staff as they took their time to recommend their best soups and health benefits.
1. Classic turtle soup was rich and flavorful, with the nutritious herbs complementing the meat and the taste was wholesome and hearty
2. Surprisingly their cordyceps chicken herbal soup was bursting with flavor and richness as well, and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
3. Their prawn rolls stood out for the crispy texture on the outside and being chewy, soft inside. Dipping it in the sesame sweet honey dip was the perfect touch.
Get the yam rice, delicious eating it with the soup. Do dip the meat in their chili sauce as the tanginess goes well with it.
Visited on a rainy evening, Tan Ser Seng's Claypot Turtle Soup and Ginseng Black Chicken Soup were the ultimate comfortārich, flavourful, and soul-warming. Paired with fragrant Yam Rice, the hearty soups felt nourishing and restorative. The crispy Prawn Roll and Jade Tofu added delightful variety, showcasing the restaurantās mastery of simple yet satisfying dishes. Highly recommended for anyone seeking traditional comfort food that warms both the body and soul.
I had a comforting and nourishing meal! The Double Boiled Turtle Soup and Ginseng Black Chicken Soup were both rich and flavorful, with deep, soothing flavors that warmed the soul. The Prawn Roll was crispy and succulent, while the Tofu was silky and delicately seasoned. Each dish showcased expert preparation and a focus on wholesome ingredients. The service was great too, highly recommended!
A good spread of local palatable cuisines especially their signature herbal soups such the Cordyceps White Chicken Soup, which is rich and flavorful, featuring soft, melt-in-your-mouth chicken & the collagen-rich fish maw soup that comes with abalone.
The chicken herbal soup stands out with its rich, aromatic broth and tender chicken that feels nourishing and indulgent. The fish maw is perfectly prepared, offering a silky texture, while the prawn balls are fresh, bouncy, and full of flavor. The vegetables are crisp and vibrant, cooked just right to retain their natural goodness. To complete the meal, the chrysanthemum drink is light and refreshing, perfectly complementing the rich, hearty dishes.
Must be a fuck-up. My soup tasted like ordinary fish soup, not the intense seafood soup they're famous for. Even my companion's fish soup had the usual taste. I returned it but the female cashier said all their soups are the same so it couldn't be wrong, despite mine obviously tasting different. Major disappointment. The ingredients were top-notch as usual. I would take dory over pricier fish they have. The fish roe was a mistake hahaha I hate it. I misread it as egg floss.
Dropped by on a weekday lunch for some herbal soup. The black and white chicken soup were rich in flavor and hearty. Excellent service too! We will be back.
Ordered the black and white chicken soup, both were nourishing and rich. Clean and nice place to dine in for a hearty meal!
I chose beef goulash and cheese pasta. Soup is always good and heart warming.the pasta wasnāt great.
The food here is amazing. Has a limited menu but that also means those few dishes are likely to be better. Had the black chicken herbal soup and turtle soup, both were fragrant and aromatic. The herbal taste is just nice and not over the top. The chicken meat was tender and fall off the bone. Also had ommelette with preserved vegetables and their jade tofu. Both were equally amazing and especially paired with the chilli they provide. Lastly had the yam rice and it was delicious as well. The drinks are put in a hard plastic cup with a lid, we had chrysanthemum and lime juice. Overall, very good meal and would definitely return to try again when I'm in the area
Tan Ser Seng Herbal Soup may be famous for their turtle soup, but did you know their chicken soups are just as worth trying? Rich, herbal and slow-cooked to perfection, each bowl delivers comfort and nourishment in every sip.
Hereās what we had:
š² Collagen Fish Maw Soup
Good for the skin and body. The base is actually turtle soup, but thereās no turtle meatājust fish maw and a silky, rich broth
š² Ginseng Black Chicken Soup
A classic combination of tender black chicken and ginseng. Light, nourishing and packed with health benefits like boosting blood circulation and digestion.
š² Cordyceps White Chicken Soup
This one is clean and refreshing but still packed with herbal goodness. Cordyceps are great for improving lung function, immunity and overall energy.
š¤ Handmade Prawn Roll
Crispy, juicy and a great side dish to pair with the soups.
Service highlight: The staff were friendly and helpful, even going the extra mile to shelter diners with umbrellas when it started to rain.
If youāre craving something hearty and nourishing, this spotās chicken soups are worth checking outāeven if youāre skipping the turtle.
