Most places serve dory for their fish and chips but over at Big Fish Small Fish, they actually offer a selection of fish to choose from. On the menu, they have dory, sea bass, hoki, salmon and haddock served with a choice of bases ranging from crisps, fries, hand-mashed potato, coconut rice and pasta. It also includes one choice of sauce from garlic butter, tartar, cheese, spicy, lime mayo and truffle mayo.

I went for their lunch set that is available on weekdays from 11am - 5pm. I got myself the haddock with fresh potato crisps and cheese dip. The set also comes with a drink and additional options for soup add-on at just $1. The portion of fish was quite big. Mine came with two fillets with thick and crunchy golden brown batter. The potato crisps are thin, maintain their crisps and go well with the cheese dip 》$19.80 Haddock

My wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner when we stumbled upon this restaurant along Tanjong Katong Road. Curious, we decided to give it a try and we’re so glad we did.

The interior took us on a nostalgic trip back to the ’70s, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made us feel very welcomed. After a few recommendations from the person in charge, we decided on two main courses and a dessert.

I ordered the Double Bacon Smash Burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. The homemade brioche bun was soft and buttery, and the Wagyu patties were cooked to perfection. Both my wife and I agreed it tastes better than Shake Shack’s version any day.

My wife went with the Homemade Spaghetti with Fresh Crab Meat in Special Chili Sauce. The flavors were bold and unique, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A word of advice: go with the normal spice level because it already packs quite a punch! :)

For dessert, we tried the Durian Crème Brûlée, and it was the highlight of the evening. Topped with pure durian pengat and served with fresh blueberries and strawberries, it was one of the best crème brûlées we’ve ever had. A must-try for durian lovers!

A nice and chill spot in the Katong neighbourhood, Seng House truly surprised me with its quality food. We had the Double Bacon Mash Burger and Spaghetti Al Granchio, followed by their Durian Crème Brûlée. The burger was juicy and tender, while the spaghetti was incredibly delicious — a must-try for crab lovers who enjoy a little spice. To end the meal, the crème brûlée was rich, creamy, and absolutely satisfying. We’ll definitely be back again!

Wanted to sit at a chill cafe and stumbled upon this gem! 🤤🫶

My partner and I ordered the crispy mid wings and the crab sandwich 🥪 We each got a drink as well - matcha sea foam and chocolate sea foam. The drinks were so amazing & honestly worth the price. It reminded me of liho’s and koi’s macchiato!!

The mid wings were super juicy and crispy… while the crab sandwich added a refreshing touch to the entire meal.

We went the cafe at Farrer Park which was in the lobby of Lyf Hotel and we absolutely loved the vibes. Will defo be back to try the other dishes~

Very chill bar in a very chill neighbourhood. Their fusion of chinese flavours with a western twist will leave you speechless. Definitely will be back again.

Service was underwhelming. Wanted to celebrate an anniversary with my partner and had stated as such in the reservation booking. Even came by holding a bouquet of flowers. But in the end, there was no special gesture by the staff to help commemorate this special occasion; not even an offer to decorate our dessert! Further, clearing of our plates was not prompt and I had to take quite some effort to call someone over to serve our dessert.

As for the food, the Cauliflower ($18) was really bland and lacked the nutty sweetness of a well-grilled cauliflower. It just tasted like it was boiled which lost most of it's fragrance; the layer of hazelnut also didn't seem to gel well with the cauliflower in terms of flavour and texture - every bite of this was almost a chore! The other side that we got, the Potato Gratin ($8) fared better and was much more enjoyable albeit the small size.

For our mains of Seared Halibut ($34), we really enjoyed the fresh halibut, with its moist flesh and crisp skin. The clams were also plump and juicy which even my partner who doesn't prefer clams say that she liked it. However, I thought that there was a excessive amount of fennel which almost overpowered the natural taste of the seafood. Ended off the meal with the Warm Pear Lemon ($18) and a glass of sweet wine ($18). The pear dessert was a delight with its intense pear flavours in a multitude of forms, though I wished that the croissant was warmer so as to contrast the cold sorbet better.

Overall, the vibes of the place was nice and the food was decent, and with Accor+ you can get up to 50% off your food (and 15% off wine) which makes for a value-for-money meal. If only service was better, I would have had a much more memorable and positive experience here.

Great food and atmosphere! The sandwich with crab was filled with hash brown, the crab meat was also really fresh. Overall, visit this place if you want a sandwich that slaps!

Chicken wing with garlic and parsley dip was really crispy and tasty too, definitely worth a try.

The hojicha / matcha foam was really tasty too, easily one of the best I have had!

Atmosphere was chill and quiet enough to hold long conversations. Would recommend!

TLDR: Plain… and unexciting.

Chocolate Fudge Cupcake ($4.50) and Chocolate Walnut Brownie ($8.50) were recommended by the staff.

Althrough soft in texture, the plain Jane-ness was unexciting.

Hearty and flavourful ciabatta sandwiches which are perfect for lunch. Particularly enjoyed my crab sandwich which had generous chunks of crab meat. Paired well with the matcha drink too!

[JOO CHIAT, SINGAPORE] I think many people probably had @tomocafesg cloud coffee or eispanner, but I'm happy to share that their Tonkatsu Sando ($20) is a joy to have as well!

I was very pleasantly surprised by how crispy the crust was, and how tender the meat was as well 😍 the tonkatsu cutlet came pretty thick and massive, and it gave a good snap biting through it. It was not dry at all too! The tonkatsu itself was already better than many of the local speciality tonkatsu shops I've went 🤯 2 pieces of soft buttery broiche bread sandwiched the tonkatsu, and I really loved the tangy sauce used! Fries were great, though nothing much to shout too much about.

What's even better is that you can use Grab DineOut discounts here! Had a 15% discount which made my brunch more worthwhile 😋
