had q high hopes for this place bec i saw a review raving abt authentic italian fare here but MAN what a scam 😭😭😭😭

texture of the ragu fettucine was soooo odd like it wasn't chewy nor soggy nor crispy but somehow a mix of all? idk there was no word to describe; also kinda js tasted like saizerya bolo but worse. i actl would rather have saizerya which is saying alot!!!! ☝🏻☝🏻😵

anyways the pesto was ok luh salty garlicy but if you're looking for the green grass taste it's not there lor. the cone shaped pasta q chewy (but not rly al dante... more like previously cooked then heated up in microwave type of texture) but pass la 6/10

w burpple i think can close one eye to the prices ($24 per pasta) but NO LA just pay full price at chicco pasta bar like 2 mins walk away pls 🙏🏻

[CHINATOWN, SINGAPORE] Tried the very famous @damichelesingapore and while their pizzas were absolutely fantastic, their pasta and sides fell short of expectations.

Out of the many pizzas we've had that night, the Truffle Porcini Pizza ($40) was absolutely heavenly. With a huge amount of umami coming from the mushrooms within the pizza, the truffle paste had a good amount of truffle flavour without being too overwhelming. Their dough is really of a different level, as it was chewy yet pillowy. They were very generous with the cheese as well, and speaking of which, if you love your cheese then you gonna love the 4 Cheese Pizza ($35). It had the right amount of savouriness and earthy flavour, with a slight funkiness from the blue cheese. What a delight!

As much as I would like to give compliments for their pizza, their pastas and sides were unfortunately rather disappointing. We had a couple of them like the Linguine Alle Vongole ($35) and their Ragu Della Portiera ($36), and they were at most average. Indeed they were fresh tasting, but just normal.

Their sides were pretty overpriced too, like the Insalata Di Polipo ($36) or Octopus Salad. There were only a few thin slices of octopus for the price paid 😂

All in all, still great vibes but maybe just come for their pizza?

For Valentine’s Day dinner, we kept it casual at Pete’s Place, and honestly, that’s the kind of dining experience we enjoy these days—good, honest cooking done right.

We started with the Calamari Fritti, and it was one of the best we’ve had in a while. Lightly battered and fried to tender perfection, the squid was paired with pickled zucchini, which added a refreshing contrast to the crispy goodness.

For mains, we had the Linguine Vongole, where the clams could have been plumper, but the white wine reduction was beautifully balanced—sweet, savoury, and full of umami. The Diavola Pizza was everything you’d expect—meaty, cheesy, with a chewy, satisfying crust that fills you up fast.

But the star of the night? Pete’s Tiramisu. Served tableside from a tray, the savoiardi biscuits soaked up the espresso and white amaretto, making each bite moist, decadent, and just the right amount of boozy, while the mascarpone added a creamy, luxurious finish.

Definitely a spot worth adding to the list for comforting, well-executed Italian fare.

Visited Elixir Coffee and Wine earlier this month for dinner and tried Deep Fried Burrata, Wagyu Bolognese and Bismark Blanc Pizza. My favourite was definitely the pizza, the soft and fluffy sourdough covered with the white sauce was a great pairing. We finished our meal with their Damn Good Tiramisu, which was pleasant surprise for me as the ladyfinger pastries were flavourful yet not too soggy. Definitely worth a visit!

Went to Paradise Pizza to try their pizzas and enjoyed their sourdough style crust! We had their fried burrata to start and got their wagyu bolognese pasta and bismarck blanc pizza as mains! My personal favourite was the bismarck blanc pizza as the white sauce and crispy bacon went well with the chewy dough.

Had a lovely dinner here at Paradise Pizza! The deep-fried burrata was a creamy cheesy treat, served with a tangy pomodoro sauce that balanced it out. The mentaiko pasta was an interesting dish that is definitely worth the try, with a uniquely savoury sauce that clung to every strand of pasta. The bismark blanc pizza was a cheesy, eggy delight. Ended the night on a truly high note with their rich and flavourful tiramisu. Do check them out!

Tucked away in Funan Mall, Mingle Bistro is a cozy spot serving up creative Italian-Asian fusion dishes.

For starters, the Sea Salt & Szechuan Spice Crispy Squid packs a punch with its bold, fiery seasoning, while the signature Currywurst Fries—inspired by the iconic Berlin street snack—features skin-on fries coated in homemade curry spice, topped with spicy pork chorizo, and drizzled with yogurt and curry ketchup. This one definitely brings the heat!

Among their interesting mains, the White Wine & Chicken Collagen Broth Pasta stood out with its essence of danggui, making it both flavorful and nourishing. Lately, I’ve been craving dishes with that perfect sweet-spicy balance, so the Nduja & Hot Honey Pizza was a no-brainer. Mingle’s hot stone pizzas are aged for over 24 hours and freshly made to order, resulting in a light, airy dough that pairs beautifully with the spicy nduja and hot honey drizzle.

If you’re looking for something unique yet comforting, Mingle Bistro is worth a visit!

my fav of the night. the olive oil gelato and fried rosemary made this so aromatic🤌🏼

a simple heirloom tomato and garlic pasta done right with an incredible texture and bite to the pasta

my favourite item is the sourdough pizza! soft and chewy crust and tasty creamy sauce. the deep fried burrata was also interesting, topped with tiny balls of “caviar” which was actually balsamic vinegar. pasta was nothing to shout about though tiramisu was great. location could be better as it is about a 20min walk to the nearest MRT
