Tried out this place because of their 1-for-1 promo, but honestly, it's way too restrictive. You can’t even choose two different drinks — both have to be the same, and only one size is allowed. Feels more like a gimmick than a real deal. To top it off, the drink itself was just average.

From Tamoya Udon & Tempura
Chewy udon, creamy mentai mayo, and savoury toppings like roasted shrimp roe, onsen egg, and juicy beef.
Also added more seaweed, pickled radish and fried fritter crisps.
Side dish pumpkin tempura simply complete the meal.
Not bad indeed!

Wanted to check with lunch spot out.
Got a petit bowl and a strawberry matcha - with the 30% off Burpple deal. It came up to $12.95 total for both.
I chose the mushroom, slaw, rice and tofu with the green goddess sauce.
Strawberry came in a jelly form rather than a compote — but I do think some people will like this.
Overall a good clean lunch spot, and definitely worth a try with burpple

Rich, bold and beautifully plated — Ge Lao Guan Hotpot is where comfort food meets intensity.
One of the first things that caught my eye? The condiments station — so sophisticated and well thought-out, with a variety that felt curated instead of overwhelming.

Both soup bases were packed with character — the beef tallow broth with bullfrog was deep, savoury and delicious, while the Shanghai tomato broth added a tangy-sweet contrast that balanced the richness.

Some highlights from the meal:
🩷 Bull Frog was well soaked and marinated in the soup (My Epic Fav)
🩷 Salted egg yolk prawn paste — creamy and full-bodied
🩷 Triple beef platter and beef tripe — fresh, quick-cooking, and juicy (Must order)
🩷 Fried egg with Fuling pickled mustard — so nostalgic, savoury and satisfying
🩷 Tiger prawn — Huge fresh and yummy!!
✅️ 50cm crispy pork strips — light and crunchy
✅️ Finished off with century ice jelly — light, herbal and refreshing
✅️ Strawberry Bliss - fruity and fun
✅️ Pineapple Jasmine Lemon Tea - bright citrus lift that kept things refreshing between bites.

It was a deeply flavourful experience, and I left feeling full, not just from the food, but from the way each dish literally had its own moment. For those into intense broths and curated bites, this spot brings comfort with a touch of flair you won't regret heading down!!

this place is known for their bullfrog hotpot!! tip is to get those frogs out of the pot before it's overcooked LOL

they had such a variety of dishes and hotpot meat / veges too!! fav was the first beef slices - super tender~ and loved their fried stuff too especially when they came to cut it up into bite size pieces on the spot!!

for the fried egg, u can dip it into the soup base too for extra flavour~

i loved how they made a float for my drink with the ice cream HAHAA in fact i topped up another ice cream to my drink later on LOL since they have free flow ice cream also!! variety of flavours also la

and omg honestly we were both super shocked at the portion size of the dessert jelly thing?? MAN JUST DUMPED LIKE WHAT 2 LITRES OF MILK TEA INTO IT HAHAHAHA i think it served 20 bowls lets be real...

oh and of course the interior design!! 12 zodiac signs and i think i saw 50 types of sauces... my favourite sesame sauce had like THREE VERSIONS??? first time see lol

and free flow watermelon, orange and OMG ALMOST FORGOT THEIR GREEN BEAN SOUP!! it was cold leh surprisingly so honestly this could be a perfect drink to pair with ur hotpot!!! so so refreshing and not too sweet

vv short walk from bugis! can go try~

Came by on Mother's Day and they were so kind to offer a complimentary stalk of flower and beancurd desserts to our table in celebration. To our surprise, they were also running a promotion of 20% off the menu, even for the set lunch menu! Really so generous!

Their set menus start from $29.90++, which comes with broth and meat of your choice, a more-than-decent vegetable platter, choice of noodles or rice, a drink, and access to their "market table", which has appetisers, sauces and condiments, fruits, and a dessert bar where you can make your own jelly dessert concoction! There're also premium meat options to top up $10 for which includes seafood, premium beef, etc as your choice of meat.

Overall, the meat and veges were fresh and high quality, broths were delicious and refillable (we loved the tomato and golden chicken broths), and we had such a blast eating! Ambience was cosy, the interior was aesthetic, and service was prompt and friendly. If we had to give a complaint, it was that our table for 4 was slightly too cramped, such that we frequently had to 'tetris' the golden cages that the meat and vege platters came in for them to fit on the table top.

Burpple deal got us two single pax meal for the price of one, and with massive portions to boot. For a single pax meal, you get to select from a range of broth with meat, with your choice of two vege sides and one carb. Delicious and satisfying, clean and bright ambience, friendly service - what more can you ask for? With Burpple, our total came up to $18.70 (we added a cup of ice lemon tea for $2.80). Worth!

Chashu Donburi was pretty good, though the portion was quite small. There's also a portion of egg salad which was rich and delicious. The set comes with iced green tea which was a little sweet but helped to wash down the meal. They have free flow pickles and spicy preserved vege. Nice environment for a solo meal but the space is a little cramped.

Not good to visit at night. Many dishes unavailable because they didn't wanna cook them. The crabmeat was terrible. Dry and clearly frozen.

I had an incredible dining experience that started strong with the Garden City Sling. This cocktail was not only beautifully presented—with a dramatic touch of dry ice and orchid water—but it also tasted as lovely as it looked. The drink had a sweet, subtle flavour profile with floral notes, and the alcohol was perfectly balanced, enhancing rather than overpowering the experience. Easily a 10/10.

For my main, I ordered the duck confit with foie gras, and it did not disappoint. The foie gras was expertly cooked—rich and creamy without being overly gamey—while the duck confit was tender, flavourful, and fell effortlessly off the bone. What truly tied the dish together was the mandarin orange salsa. Its tangy, slightly acidic profile cut through the richness beautifully, adding a fresh brightness to an already delicious plate.

A beautifully balanced meal, both in taste and presentation. I’d definitely return.

Back again at Pawa Bakery! We enjoy their toasts and bagels, this time we tried their sourdoughs and different flavours of bagels.

Their bagels are low oil, low sugar, with a soft plush texture especially when eaten fresh from the oven! I’d recommend steaming/toasting them if you’re eating over the next few days. Purple sweet ptt was my fav, with the fragrant sweet ptt purée, I liked the cheese one too with soft mild milky cheese cubes. Pandan was aromatic but a bit thick/custardy, while the chocolate one had a cocoa cream cheese taste.

Liked the macadamia yogurt sourdough, filled with almonds, walnuts, dried fruit like berries, figs, raisins, as well as the honey nuts bar was stuffed with similar ingredients, was v nutty and nice to chomp on!
