Ordered the meatballs, drawn by the attractive picture in the menu, but alas, they turned out no bigger than supermarket meatballs! 5 for $14 😳And this picture is already a “zoomed-in” effort. Even the lovely pizza could not make up for this … 😩
[JOO CHIAT, SINGAPORE] Although desserts are a speciality in @withinthewalls.sg, they do good dim sum and mains as well!
Their Orh Nee ($7.90) was simply fantastic, with such an aromatic yam flavour with rich coconut milk. We wiped the bowl clean, together with their seasonal Durian Snow Ice ($14.80). It had the right ice texture and was so rich and aromatic without being surfeiting! This dessert needs no toppings and was so darn addictive.
For their dim sum, their Fried Shrimp Roll ($4.80) is definitely my favourite, as it had a prominent shrimp flavour. For larger mains, check out their Curry Chicken Rice ($9.80), as it was so meaty and the curry was very aromatic!
Even their drinks were good! I loved my Ice Lemon Tea ($5.80) as it was made fresh and definitely didn't taste artificial.
Thank you @burpple and @withinthewalls.sg for the invite and scrumptious meal!
I had the Elvis ($11) which had PB, raw cacao, banana blended together to form a thick & creamy smoothie bowl, topped with house-made vanilla granola. Also topped with raw peanut butter cubes which were to die for!! The top layer was rich pb & choc, and the bottom sticky crunchy layer was a mixture of crushed cashews, pitted dates & coconut.
was convinced by a friend to change the buns of the Portobello Mushroom Burger ($18) to Gluten-free Toast (+$3). It’s LIFE CHANGING SERIOUSLY. As usual, their potato chunks taste amazing esp when paired with their housemade mayo.
After all the indulgent CNY feasting, we were craving something different and stumbled upon Masala Tandoor for dinner. Is it just me, or does the East Coast/Marine Parade area have a surprising number of Indian restaurants? With barely any social media buzz, we relied on Google Reviews to decide, and it turned out to be a great find.
We started with the Amritsari Fish, boneless nuggets battered with a medley of spices, before moving on to sharing plates of Aloo Gobi and Butter Chicken, paired with Chicken Dum Biryani and Chicken Tikka Biryani. And of course, no Indian meal is complete without freshly baked Garlic Naan, perfect for mopping up all that rich, flavorful gravy.
Crayfish cravings? Consider them satisfied! 🦞✨ @XIAMIHAOLIAO serves up a flavor explosion with their perfectly seasoned crayfish—rich, savory, and packing just the right amount of heat. 🔥
And those sweet prawns with lettuce? A delightful surprise, doused in an irresistible sauce that leaves you wanting more. Let's not forget the deep-fried lotus root and crispy fish—golden, crunchy, and insanely addictive! 😍😍
Beyond the mouthwatering dishes, the ambiance sets the scene with elegant Chinese decor, cozy private dining area and alfresco area on the second floor. If you're a seafood lover, this is your sign to dive into some finger-licking goodness. 🦞🍤🍽️
