[TANJONG PAGAR, SINGAPORE] One look at the colour of this matcha gelato and you know it's gonna be good š„¹
I've always wanted to try this @tsujiri_sg gelato outlet as they have so many variations of matcha gelato š I tried a couple of their matcha creations and this cup of Matcha Hazelnut ($5.50) won my heart. As a matcha, chocolate and nut lover, this was absolutely incredible. All 3 flavour profiles were prominent and so well complemented without being too rich! The matcha flavour is definitely decadent and so beautifully rich and nutty~
Can't wait for my next time here š this is the perfect dessert shop to go right after having Korean BBQ just round the corner!

[SOMESET, SINGAPORE] Finally paid a visit to @risebakehouse.sg, and their coffee and cakes are as good as the ones I've had in their Potong Pasir outlet some time ago! Kudos to them for making their cafe so pretty and aesthetic as well š„¹
The White Peach Earl Grey Cake ($8.80) looked and tasted good. The cake was moist, with a hint of earl grey flavour which isn't too strong. The white peach flavour did not taste too artificial, and definitely complemented well with the earl grey flavour. Interesting that there's a peach jelly in the middle of the cake too!
The Hallabong Bear ($9) may be expensive, but it was refreshing! With a strong citrus and aromatic orange flavour, the cold brew coffee took a backseat in this one. It was not too sweet and not too rich as well!
The Iced Matcha Latte ($7.50) was surprisingly good, with a strong earthy flavour which sustained its strength all the way till the last sip. It wasn't grainy too! I feel like it's as good as the shop nearby (iykyk š¤)
Definitely coming back for more soon! āØ
[LAVENDER, SINGAPORE] Among the old shops and antique buildings in the area lies @siyuan.tangshuipu , which offers a curated list of hot and cold desserts that were absolutely delectable. This is my repeated visit, as I liked how their desserts were not too sweet and very natural tasting.
We decided to get desserts that we have not tried before, and their Chendol š§ ($4.50) was such a good choice. The amount of gula melaka and coconut milk was perfect; it wasn't too sweet nor too rich. The gula melaka itself was very thick, and I loved the salty finish towards the end. The red beans were well cooked till soft but not mushy, giving additional texture to the dessert. Very satisfying and good to share!
Their Mango Sago š„ ($5.50) was also another good choice, as it wasn't too sweet and I love how it tasted like it was made entirely with real mangoes! Many places use alot of syrup, which you can tell by the flavour. There were loads of other ingredients as well, like the random jelly balls that added texture to the otherwise smooth dessert.
Definitely check this out if you are around the area š can't wait to go back to try their Orh Nee again!
[SENGKANG, SINGAPORE] Dear Sengkang residents, I'm so envious of y'all that you have such a good waffles and gelato place near your neighbourhood! This is my repeated visit at @thebetterscoop and I'm still in awe at how good the gelato flavours were š
We went all out on tea related flavours and got the Tie Guan Yin, Jasmine Green Milk Tea and Honey Chamomile Blue Pea. The Tie Guan Yin was so fragrant as usual, with strong tea notes which were neither too strong nor too mellow. I absolutely loved the Jasmine flavour as well, due to its smooth flavour that reminded me of drinking a good bubble tea. Now we come to my favourite flavour of the evening, the Honey Chamomile. The Chamomile flavours were strong, and yet complemented well with the honey notes. It wasn't too sweet as well, and yet very addictive!
To pair with your gelato, their Nian Gao Waffles is really a must order. The slightly crispy exterior had a good contrast with the chewy nian gao within and the butter flavour was also very strong! The total priced paid was $20.
This was a dessert that made us really happy š definitely will come back for more!
[MATTAR, SINGAPORE] Happened to have eaten nearby and we came across @crazyscoops.sg which had delicious gelato and mochi waffles š
The Mochi Waffles š§ were of quality, with a crispy batter and a soft fluffy inside. There was quite abit of mochi within, which was nice and chewy š we tried many flavours of their gelato and we settled on their black sesame, strawberry honey yoghurt and white chrysanthemum. Their black sesame was the best, as it had such nutty rich flavours that made us go for more! The strawberry honey yoghurt was so refreshing with such a well rounded flavour. White chrysanthemum had a strong aromatic tea flavour which isn't too sweet!
Total bill was $21.80. Definitely a neighbourhood gelato cafe to go for especially when you're nearby.
May not look like much, but I can guarantee you this may be the best durian desserts you'll have. With a good reputation in selling fantastic durians, @99oldtrees 's desserts are a great way to showcase its quality.
The Stinky Bowl or Durian Mousse ($6.30) consists of a creamy durian mousse, with a dollop of durian meat on top. The mousse itself was of the right temperature; cold enough to be refreshing, while not too cold till you can't taste the durian flavour. The flavour itself was very aromatic as well. The durian meat itself was even more intense and the durian lover in me was extremely satisfied.
Their Stinky MSW Roll ($6.90) is a good choice as well, especially for people who do not like their durian flavour to be too pungent. You still get a good aromatic flavour from the meat within and it pairs well with their soft buttery cake layer!
Durian lovers, this is one dessert cafe you don't want to miss!
If you love your durian, this is one dessert shop @dessertfirstsg to go for. Though there are some elements within the Durian Shaved Ice ($11.50) that I didn't like, there were some that I absolutely adored š
The Durian Shaved Ice comes with durian flavoured ice, durian cream, durian meat and durian ice cream. Eating all of them together was very satisfying, as it was so rich with durian flavours! The durian cream was so potent in flavour, and the durian meat was sweet, aromatic and just slightly bitter. I actually didn't like the ice cream and ice itself, as they seem to taste too artificial. Seems like their Durian Shaved Ice (a different dessert bowl) would be my option next time as they did not have the components that I didn't like!
As an avid durian lover, I'm definitely coming back for more!
If you haven't had the nian gao waffles at @thebetterscoop yet, it's time to do it this weekend. I absolutely fell in love with the rendition at their new Anchovale Village outlet as it was just so good!
The Nian Gao Waffles ($6.80) we've got came crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I like how buttery and aromatic their waffles were, and that they gave a rather huge portion of Nian Gao! This gives them a chewy texture which was well appreciated.
To go with their waffles, we got their Peanut and Black Sesame Muah Chee and Tie Guan Yin ($9.50 for both scoops). The peanut and black sesame muah chee was such an awesome flavour, as it tasted very much like the muah chee I used to eat often as a kid. Both flavours in the gelato were pronounced and complemented each other so well! There were additional muah chee cubes within too. The Tie Guan Yin flavour was much lighter yet still fragrant, perfect for those who prefer a more refreshing taste. Both flavours are absolutely recommended.
Can't wait for my next time here! Definitely one of the best nian gao waffles I've had!
When thinking about desserts near Tanjong Pagar, @beansfactory.singapore's quality desserts come to my mind right away. Affordable and delicious, they are my go-to dessert whenever I'm around the area!
The Signature Grass Jelly ($7.90) comes with a variety of ingredients, and one of their best ingredients is their chewy dough (not sure what to call them š)! They were chewy and flavourful and the different coloured ones actually tasted different! I like how it isn't too sweet, even after adding in the milk and black sugar.
The Matcha Beancurd ($7.90) is another good bowl to get, and once again I loved the matcha dough! It had a good matcha fragrance. The sweet red bean was chunky and paired well with the silky beancurd.
Can't wait to be back to try their other variations!
If you are looking for some solid Chendol or Orh Nee, I think the rendition at @hupkafoon really hits the spot.
The Durian Chendol ($5.50) was incredibly rich, with aromatic sweetness coming from the Gula Melaka, and savouriness from the thick coconut milk. Because of this contrast, it is surprisingly not too sweet, but you still get a deep flavour from them! Loved the durian paste as well, as it was very aromatic too. Definitely one of the good variants.
One interesting dessert to get is their Durian Infused Orh Nee ($5.50). With a powerful kick of intense durian flavour, the orh nee taste was rather subtle and instead gave a light earthy aftertaste. We actually liked this alot and would order this again!
The Tang Yuan ($3) was quite standard. Felt like they cooked the dumplings a little too long.
Nonetheless, I will come back here again for their Chendol and Orh Nee!
Back at @kookscreamery for their desserts and noticed that they now have lava waffles! Tried it but felt like we should still stick with their lava cookie and gelato š
The Matcha Lava Waffles we ordered were unfortunately too soft? There was not crisp to the waffle and it seemed cold. The matcha cream had some matcha flavour and was pretty sweet. We got the Dirty Matcha with the waffles, and it was pretty good. You get a slight earthy flavour with a hint of coffee flavour. Wished that it was less sweet though!
We also got another Chocolate Lava Cookie, which was as good as always. Dark rich chocolate ganache with soft buttery cookie; this is hard to go wrong. With the cookie we got a Pistachio and Black Sesame gelato. The Pistachio was fine with its creamy nuttiness, but the black sesame SLAPPED SO HARD. The black sesame flavour was so strong yet so aromatic and it had the right amount of sweetness and earthiness. So lovely I wished I ordered another scoop!
The total bill was about $33, which was kind of pricey. Nonetheless, I will still see myself back to try more of their gelato with lava cookie!
ORH NEE WAFFLES?? As Orh Nee lovers, we had to try @creme_sg 's rendition. Overall, we gave the waffles a thumbs up, and the gelato flavours are just alright.
The Orh Nee Waffles were crispy on the outside, and really fluffy within. We love how there was a substantial amount of orh nee cream, and that it was rich and quite full of orh nee and coconut flavour! This was very fragrant and addictive and can be eaten on its own.
The gelato flavours were good, but just nothing to shout out about. The Sugarless Chocolate was indeed very dark and rich, with some brownie bits within. The Raspberry Blueberry Oatmilk was very fruity and tangy, but the texture was a little strange as it was especially sticky. Felt like both gelato flavours were abit too sweet.
Total price was about $16. Honestly, I would definitely go back for their waffles and stick to their chrysanthemum goji gelato flavour! That one was good š
