Consider ourselves lucky to have tried their Beni Imo Mochi Waffle before it was phased out for their latest creation. The waffle itself was pretty good, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and well-cooked. The mochi texture was excellent, kinda like pasar malam muah chee, not too soft or too firm, with just the right elasticity and smoothness. However, the beni imo sweet potato flavour was barely detectable, despite its vibrant purple hue. A sprinkle of crushed peanuts and sugar on the mochi would have elevated it further.

Though this limited item is gone, you can now try their Kunafa Waffle, featuring White Chocolate Spread Kunafa with Pistachio Crumbs & Salted Caramel Sauce. Stocks are limited, and they might introduce another creation in a few months so grab it while you can!

We also sampled several ice cream flavours, each rich and creamy:
Honeycomb Macadamia 🥰 - Crunchy, caramelised, buttery.
Almond Chocolate Stracciatella 👍 - Nutty, chocolatey, creamy.
Ube Mochi 😀 - Subtly sweet, semi-chewy, earthy.
Honey Lavender 🤤 - Sweet honey floral note.
Pistachio Rose ☺️ - Nutty, light floral note, fragrant.
Chamomile Lavender 😋 - Soothing, aromatic, comforting.
Sea-Salt Jasmine Matcha 😍 - Very interesting. Salty, savoury, earthy and floral.
Honeysuckle Chrysanthemum 😘 - Strong, delicate, herbal, sweet.

Just look at the sear on this pork chop! And the sheer amount in this economy. While the pork chop isn’t thick, I believe it’s what keeps the meat tender, juicy, and flavourful. Really good stuff and worth a try if you’re looking for traditional western food.

My new obsession is old school western food and Jet Winds really hits the spot. While 511 is a smaller sized hawker, they have a bunch of solid food stalls there. From Seng Kee Herbal soup to Aliff Nasi Lemak and of course to the (maybe??? better than 85) minced meat noodles, most of the stalls there have pretty much a cult following. Jet Winds is no stranger, especially with its long queues during peak dinner hour. But the queue moves pretty fast, so that extremely juicy chicken thigh (not fatty at all) that’s seared perfectly and complemented with that piping hot rice drizzled in sauce will be in your tummy in no time.

Apparently one of the OGs, going back a century. It's fine, better than some of the soup bcm I ate recently, especially the wantons.
