Ordered Yang Zhou Fried Rice ($4) from Somerset Delight.
Very fragrant and even have small prawn in it. There's a queue but clear quite fast too
but would have been better if it was warm
Shaxian has interesting cuisine. They seem to love dry noodles. Here the meat was ordinary, but I loved the la mian.
Shaxian has interesting cuisine. For example, they eat a lot of 馄饨, which is smaller than 饺子. The filling is fish paste. They're not bad, but the soup was terrible. We should've ordered the bone broth.
Shaxian has interesting cuisine. But this dish isn't very differentiated from rest of China. Also, the meat and soup weren't great. Probably a wrong order.
Unatoto from Japan offers good value for money. But umaki - unagi tamagoyaki is not to my taste.
($6.90) I felt meh that it's quite dry for fried tofu and made roll to be so dry.
($2.90) It's a fusion of two different flavour between winter melon and barley. But then I felt that got strong refreshing taste and also different taste fusion.
($6.50) I finally tried their curry rice but then a lot of people queued up. They got a lot of rice and ingredients. But I felt that they give too much sauce for braised and curry gravy and even though I didn't eat finish for rice. It's worth it for try first time.
The mee hoon kueh looks hand made given the uneven shapes. The texture was nice, slightly chewy. I ordered without chilli so the taste is abit one dimensional. It wasn't too salty for me. I am not sure if the soup provided was use for the soup version mhk but it wasn't nice. It is not something to purposely come down and try for.
Hearty, comforting porridge, served thick & piping hot.
Opens early in the morning & if you're lucky enough, you can find free roadside parking on Sundays 😉
We love our hawker food {Part III}. Leng Kee’s fried oyster is a must-order for me whenever I visited Bukit Timah Food Centre. The tradition continues, even after the stall moves to the interim market.
This plate of fried oyster [a.k.a. orh luak] is just plain satisfying. Served with decent-sized oysters 🦪 and combination of crispy eggy bits with soft, gooey texture.
