preferred the boneless beef short prime rib in soy sauce marinade over the black pork belly. the service was incredible they kept changing our grill and helped us cut the pork belly even tho they were super busy

Very disappointed. Used to taste so good but it’s pretty bad now.

Very disappointed with this - burnt ends and not tasty.

If you’re in the mood for a simple and fuss-free BBQ experience, Hey! Yakiniku offers a decent option for single diners or casual meetups. The restaurant’s concept focuses on quick, solo-friendly grilling, with a menu featuring various meat cuts and seafood.

Their Christmas Special Set provides a balanced selection, including Prime Karubi (120g), Karubi with enoki mushrooms, beef tongue, wild-caught shrimp, and Arabiki pork sausage. While the variety is commendable, all the meat cuts were just average, leaning more toward quantity than quality. The shrimp and enoki mushrooms add some variety to the experience, but they don’t stand out much.

The Hey! Niku Set offers classic BBQ cuts like beef short plate, tontoro, pork belly, and gyutan. While it covers most of the bases for a yakiniku meal, the quality of the meat remains unimpressive, making it more suitable for casual everyday dining.

The Jingisukan lamb leg, however, had a very gamy taste that may not appeal to everyone.

Chicken wings, garlic sprouts, chicken skin. All good, especially the generous and fatty skin.

Eggs cooked in such kitchens are always shiok. Nice umami and a ton of onions. But on the salty side.

I had to try as I try this every time it's on the menu. They're fatty, but overall not great. Acceptable lah.

Oyster mushrooms, bread, lamb, pork. The bread was under-grilled, the mushrooms were over-grilled and the lamb was too chewy.

Simple and good. PRC fried rice is known for the pearl rice and the wok hei.

SHAO brings a refreshing take on Teochew classics, and their Signature BBQ Roe Crab is a must-try. Freshly delivered crabs are steamed and grilled to perfection, locking in natural flavors and ensuring every bite is packed with rich crab roe.

Designed for sharing, the communal-style dishes make it perfect for group dining. Highlights include the Pan-Fried Shrimp Pancake, a kid-friendly favorite, and the comforting Teochew Beef Ball Soup with its distinct garlicky aroma. Pair a bowl of rice with flavorful dishes like the Grilled Pork Jowl and Stir-Fried Qinglong Cai for a satisfying meal.
