Platter for two sets up marinated meats, smoked duck, seafood and vegetables around the grill. The meats cook tender, seafood adds variety and the greens keep the broth light and sweet. I still prefer this branch among the others as the experience feels more consistent. The chilli lifts the flavours with a fiery kick and the marination across the meats makes them satisfying without needing much else 》$28 / Platter for 2
Been visiting Aroy Mak Mookata at least once a year since their old location at Macpherson Road, but now they have moved to Jalan Besar, opposite Sim Lim Tower, near Rochor MRT.
The mookata buffet used to be split between normal and premium pricing, but now it is only one price at $23.80 nett, introduced a few months back, with no GST or service charge. If you top up $5, you get free flow fountain drinks such as authentic Thai Milk Tea, Thai Green Milk Tea, Lemongrass, and more.
With this pricing, you get seafood, marinated meat, vegetables, processed food, and free flow sauces and condiments, plus one free ice cream. Seafood selection includes flower crab, clams, sotong, dory fish, mussels, and oysters. There used to be more options like crayfish and scallops, but still a steal considering the price. Freshness was good, especially for prawns and clams, while the rest were decent.
There was a wide range of marinated meats including chicken, beef, and pork. Marination was mild, would be better with stronger flavour, but at least the cuts were bite sized. I recommend sticking to non‑marinated or sesame flavour, and also getting the smoked duck. Dip into their sauce and enjoy.
Soup base was too plain. Even after cooking all the food, it stayed plain. It is good that soup starts neutral, but after cooking, the juices should enrich it. This was a disappointment, and I hope they improve the taste of the soup base.
They offered various dipping sauces, including different types of Thai chili sauce, belachan chilli, garlic, chilli padi, and even mayo and nacho cheese sauce, to enhance the flavour.
Overall, in terms of taste and quality, I felt it fell short compared to the past. In terms of pricing, it was still worth it. Eat mookata, enjoy air‑con, and free flow drinks. I do miss their braised meat rice, which they served for a period.

Not good to visit at night. Many dishes unavailable because they didn't wanna cook them. The crabmeat was terrible. Dry and clearly frozen.
A straightforward mookata spot at Downtown East. Whether you're going ala-carte or buffet, there's plenty to choose from. Friendly staff, wallet-friendly prices and a self-service sauce station to tweak your flavours.

[Halal Thai Steamboat Buffet]
Check out Halal Thai steamboat hidden in the lower deck of this hawker centre. It’s the first Halal Thai steamboat in Singapore. We had buffet option which was priced at S$22 per pax with 2 hours time limit. If the time limit is too stressful for you, there’s also set and ala carte versions available. The All-you-can-eat buffet menu may looked limited and did not include seafood items but for the 2 of us we were too full to cover all. Although it’s located in the hawker centre, the place was quite cooling with lots of fan around. Selected chicken broth as the choice of soup base, which was quite savoury on its own. Another option available was Tom Yum. Don’t forget to generously coat the skillet with beef fat before cooking. Beef tongue was an uncommon item for steamboat but the texture was interesting. The NZ Premium Beef may looked quite fatty before cooking but it simply tasted so yummy on its own. There’s also 2 types of spicy dips available to go with the food. We visited the outlet on a weekday night and we could see a continuous flow of customers. As we were seated near the stall, it was easy to get refill for broth, gas, and sauce. We ended the meal with instant noodle and beaten egg in the soup. So shiok!

Meeting up with friends for a Monday dinner around the Raffles Place area, we decided to give Kin Tub Thai Mookata a try. First and foremost, the view from our table was spectacular. I made a reservation via WhatsApp, requesting outdoor seating, which they kindly accommodated. We were seated right at the river's edge, offering us a great view of the Singapore River and Marina Bay Sands.
We ordered the Premium Beef and Pork set, which, after GST and service charge, came to a little over $150. The portions were generous and sufficient for three people, with three varieties of beef and pork cuts, all marinated and seasoned very well. The set also included a basket of vegetables, glass noodles, and an egg.
The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and attentive, always ensuring our soup was refilled before it dried up. While their prices are on the higher side, the quality of the meats, the excellent service, and the impeccable scenic sunset view during the evening make it worth the expense. I highly recommend Kin Tub Mookata for a great evening with friends and family over dinner, enjoying both the food and the view.
You may have known about Mr Mookata on the news for bringing Thai hunks over to Singapore last year at Bugis, but failed this year when they try to bring them back for the opening of their latest outlet at Phoenix Park along Tanglin Road. But they are still famous for having hunk appearance to serve you at this new outlet.
I have to acknowledge that the location is not easy to access, which required you to take a bus from nearest MRT station to reach here.
Only a few tables was occupied on Friday evening when we were here to enjoy their buffet.
For only $32.9++ per adult on weekends, you can enjoy all the dishes unlimited but only for maximum 90 mins dining time. Of course please do not waste food or they will charge for additional wastage.
Drinks except milk tea also included with unlimited refilling.
Perfect for any occasions such as birthday celebration. They even have some special service and interaction with the hunks, such as singing birthday song to you.
Residents living near to TAM CHIAK Kopitiam is in luck as the specially curated hawker stalls in the kopitiam will leave you spoilt for choices when there. We had breakfast there and ended up ordering 3 mains for the 2 of us, just to indulge our “tamchiakness”. Redhill Pork Porridge will definitely be part of our orders with the addition of the egg to create a creamy and smooth porridge consistency. San Dai Prawn Mee has the traditional prawn mee flavour that is hard to find these days and we were glad to have tasted it here. Mr Mee Pok is the modern interpretation of the hawker classic with the addition of onsen egg and wuxiang.
Would recommend trying their one-of-a-kind deep fried Kang Kong ($16) when here! Lightly battered crunchy greens without overpowering the natural vegetable flavour, enhanced by the tangy spicy sauce. Also included crisp and succulent chunks of fish, and 2 generously sized deep fried prawns.
