Hawkers
I'm eating this again. Although I've liked it, the novelty is fast wearing off. There are interesting ingredients yes, but each component is rather run-of-the-mill.
The original stall has been taken over by the Changi Village Hokkien Mee chain. It's okay lor, nothing special. This is medium, which isn't very apparent.
Fine. Early morning so they're freshly made.
I'm back! I remembered it's good but hadn't returned because la mian has since become common. Mala soup can't drink so a bit sian, but the pork was tender and fatty, and I liked their knife-cut noodle.
I'm back! I remembered it's good but hadn't returned because la mian has since become common. The meat was great quality, the broth was fragrant and the garnish elevated it. But I regret the noodle choice zzz. I hate wide noodles and I thought biang biang was like 关庙面 but theirs was as wide as kway chap.
I had to try this gimmicky stall haha. I think they deep fry the egg noodles in that position to keep it there. It tasted like sheng mian lor. Of course the sauce helped, but sheng mian is thick, dry and alkaline.
Popcorn chicken, curry pork, hairy gourd. Good as always.
Admirable for a young hawker to sell Peranakan food in the heartlands. Here you either share dishes or eat this alone. The ayam goreng berempah was intense, but slightly small. Overall it's quite good lor.
With fish fillet.
So comforting and yummy. Food like this I eat too little because I associate them with cmi, but it's misguided.
Healthy and good, especially the ytf.
This favourite stall of ours has hiked prices dramatically after the renovation. This bowl was $7. It's still nice lah. The broth was more sweet than rich, quite unusual. The stallholder reminded me the prawns are dried, so I'm reminding you hahaha don't be shocked. It's always been so.

Tried more food than this account shows. Not known for naggy, deep reviews. Just the truth.
