Springy rice noodles tossed in a sauce that balances sweet, tangy and savoury flavors. The frozen shrimp add a crunchy bite while egg, peanuts and chili bring richness and heat. A squeeze of lime lifts the whole dish though the bean sprouts felt a bit too raw for my palate 》$11.90
The broth is rich and creamy with a miso kick that looks fiery but tastes gentler than expected. Springy noodles soak it up beautifully, paired with tender pork, soft-boiled egg and seaweed. The corn adds a light sweetness that rounds out the bowl 》$11.90 + $1 Corn
The fish here is big, crisp and golden with flaky meat inside that makes it the highlight of the plate. Served with fries, garlic bread and coleslaw, it’s filling and satisfying with that portion size 》$8.20
Light and garlicky pasta with a tender pork chop in black pepper sauce. Nothing over the top, just honest flavours at a price that makes it feel like real value-for-money comfort food 》$8.20
Ordered the Classic Prawn Noodle from Zhup Zhup and wah, it really impressed me. The broth was rich, thick and packed with that solid prawn flavour — very shiok and authentic. They packed the soup and noodles separately, so when it arrived everything still had good texture, not soggy at all. Confirm will order again.
Had a great time at Zhup Zhup. We ordered the classic prawn noodle and we are impressed by the super rich thick prawn broth that’s packed with umami. Love the separate broth concept which allows us to enjoy the concentrated flavour of the broth. The fresh coconut makes it shiok! Def recommend
Sliced pork with green chilies, glossy and tender, but the dish arrived last after the rice was gone. The flavours were mild, missing the expected spice and punch which made the wait feel even more disappointing 》$21.90
Plump clams stir-fried with ginger and onion for a fragrant, savoury bite. The sauce leans salty so it’s best enjoyed with rice to balance things out 》$9.90 (Promo)
Tender chicken, crunchy peanuts and cucumber in a savoury-sweet sauce with a gentle kick. A classic that goes well with rice 》$9.90 (Promo)
This dry pot potato dish came sizzling with plenty of aroma and colour. The potato slices were tender inside with just the right bite, soaking up the savoury sauce and spices. The mix of chilies, scallions and meat gave it that bold Hunan-style flavour but the heat stayed mild enough to perk things up without overwhelming 》$9.90 (Promo)
soup was robust, and prawns were very fresh
Zhup Zhup Supreme
The prawn flavour in the broth is dam gao, but it was overly and somewhat artificially sweet. I was hoping for a more natural, seafoody umami sweetness instead.
The noodles were nicely cooked and tossed in a subtly sweet soy sauce, but when paired with the broth, the overall dish is definitely too sweet.
The prawns were slightly overcooked, and more care could be taken to properly remove the prawn vein. The prawn balls could be more Q. The shabu and clams (la la) were fine.
Ngoh Hiang Roll
Ngoh hiang was decently meaty, though I would have enjoyed it more if water chestnuts were included in the filling for added crunch.
Crispy Prawn Cracker
The prawn crackers, however, were simple but enjoyable - extremely crispy and fragrant.
Overall
Pricing is definitely on the higher end, which made the overall experience slightly disappointing for me.
