Dinner didn’t quite do it for me so I ended things on a sweeter note with the pandan beancurd and rice balls in soy milk. The beancurd was smooth and fragrant with that gentle pandan flavour that just makes everything feel a little better. Tang yuan were soft and chewy with warm, nutty fillings that gave each spoonful a bit of comfort. Not fancy, not loud, just a quiet little treat that made up for a forgettable meal 》$3.80

📍One Soy | #02-K88

Hot, smooth and silky traditional beancurd freshly made in-store, served with gula melaka. It is not overly sweet with the right amount of syrup. highly desirable and super value for money 》$1.20

📍 Fu Hua Soya Bean 福华豆花水 | #01-87

Tucked in a quiet corner of Tampines, Chan Lim serves up silky beancurd and fresh soya milk the old-school way.

Tau huay was smooth and delicate, no grainy bits, just clean and lightly fragrant soy flavour that slides down easy. The soya milk was light, fresh and not too sweet. Nothing fancy but it hits the spot when you want something simple and comforting.

Beancurd 》$1.90
Soya Milk 》$1.90 / Large Pack

A traditional porcelain bowl full of delicate and smooth soya goodness at a very affordable price. Having this in a hawker centre gives a comforting and homely feel. The sugar syrup is also just nice and not too sweet 》$1

Smooth, not too thick and just the right consistency to spoon through without pause. Rich but never cloying. It’s so well-balanced I finished the whole bowl without even realising and somehow it never got jelat. Nutty, lightly sweet and clean all the way through.

The roasted pistachio flavour comes through clearly, with just enough sweetness to let the nuttiness shine. Bonus points for the chopped nuts on top that add texture without overcomplicating things 》$8.60

I always go for the signature peanut soup at 75 Ah Balling together with the usual peanut and sesame rice balls. The peanut soup comes sweetened and full of peanuts that dissolve/melt in my mouth. My all-time-favourite is their extremely fragrant, nutty and creamy peanut filling wrapped in a layer of chewy glutinous rice skin 》$2.80 / 4 Pcs + Soup

I always go for the peanut soup with peanut rice balls — it’s rich, creamy, and packed with nutty goodness. The fragrant sesame rice ball is just as satisfying, adding a nice contrast in flavour. The rice balls come in a variety of flavours, including red bean, yam, and matcha, offering different textures and taste. If peanut soup isn’t your thing, they also serve almond milk, ginger, and longan red date soup bases. But for me, the creamy peanut soup paired with nutty rice balls remains the ultimate warm and indulgent treat 》$3.60 / 6 Pcs

📍75 Ah Balling Peanut Soup | #02-13

A refreshing take on mango sticky rice! The black glutinous rice was super soft and had a great chewy texture and the coconut milk was creamy but not overwhelming. The mango cubes were a little sour but in a refreshing way that balanced everything out. The sago added a nice pop of texture and the grass jelly was a cool, light touch. Overall, it’s a fun and satisfying dessert especially if you’re looking for something less sweet but still really delicious 》$4.50

The sticky chewy glutinous rice was soft and had a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavours then garnished with crispy bits of toasted white rice grains. Topped with their juicy mangoes and creamy coconut milk and we have one tasty, carb-rich dessert 》$5.50

Chinese dessert cafe with neon lights and mahjong tile wallpaper. The yam paste over here is creamy and served with ginkgo and a dollop of pumpkin. The yam paste itself was good but I find the pumpkin was rather bland and does not go really well with the sweet, smooth and creamy yam paste 》$4.80

Nothing is complete without orh nee in a Teochew restaurant. The yam paste is smooth with natural flavours of yam, topped with pumpkin, ginkgo nuts and a layer of water chestnut starch. This is not too sweet and fits the taste buds from young to old 》$5.50 / Pax

You will love this if you love milk. Every spoonful comes with creamy and milky goodness. The texture is rather firm and smooth. It has an option to have it served hot/cold and the hot version was good 》$3.60

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
