BB discount is only on the waffle, and not the ice cream or toppings. So total cost of 2 waffles came up to $21.50. That said, the waffle is quite delightful, fluffy with a buttery fragrance. But inconsistent, as our second waffle was noticeably denser than the first. Ice cream was mid. Pistachio flavour was very subtle and earl grey was better, but both are overall more sugary than creamy.
Places specialising in "local farmers' produce-driven Singaporean cuisine" is certainly not a new concept, but Rustica manages to be one of the better ones I've had (in my books, at least!). The ambience of the cafe is bright and welcoming, and the service staff were so warm, friendly, and enthusiastic.
On to the food, we started off with the Crab Bergedil ($11) and Cereal Fish Bun ($12). The bergedil was fragrant and presentation was adorable, but we felt that there could be a stronger punchiness in taste, either from the crab meat or from the spices. A crispier exterior would also be good. On the other hand, the fish bun was excellent - loved the huge slab of crusty snapper fillet, which paired wonderfully with the herby tartar and soft bun
For the mains, we shared the Roasted Chicken Crown with White Pepper Sauce ($21), Golden Fish Broth ($25), and the Kailan with Fried Garlic ($14). LOVED all three dishes, and I think a recurring comment we had was the depth of flavour in every one of them. The roasted chicken had smokiness, traditional aromas of ginger and scallion, freshness from the crown daisy, and layered with the delicious white pepper sauce (couldn't stop slurping it up!). The fish broth was also thick, milky, gingery, flavourful, and overall warm and comforting. The kailan was also a surprise hit - the veges were crisp and fresh, and one can never go wrong with fried garlic. The table also gets a pot of Local Herb Rice which by itself is savoury (from the fried shallots) but went well with all the dishes.
Washed the fantastic meal down with the SG Lager Beer ($10/btl) and Vanilla Cold Brew ($9). Seriously well-executed dishes, and we enjoyed the unique renditions of local dishes. Definitely recommended for everyone!

Been a while since I visited Tipo and didn't know their Bugis outlet renovated! It's so much more spacious and bright now💫 I was too lazy to build a pasta so I ordered a house special instead - Great Gorgonzola, and idk why I didn't try it sooner. The gorgonzola cream was sooo rich🤤🧀 and clung onto the mafalde well.
I knew it was gonna be good when I was hit with a strong aroma of cinnamon and tea leaves🫖 upon entering, and the both the teh tarik ($4.50) and matcha teh tarik ($5.50)🍵 indeed were! Idk if I'll return to satisfy my teh tarik cravings but if you're looking for novelty/quality this is the place🌿

While walking in Kampung Glam, we spotted this tiny outlet. This outlet offers 6 inch long fries served in different seasonings and different sauces. Tried it in OW CHEESE flavour where the fries was dusted in cheese powder. For extra kick, topped with Mentai Mayo which came in a tiny tube.
The place also offers stuffed baked spuds where I tried Tuna Jack (S$12). Baked potato topped with shredded cheese, creamy tuna, sour cream, chopped bacon, and spring onion. Love the creamy texture plus super filling too!
Also tried Chicken Chilli (S$14) where nachos topped with chicken chilli, shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped spring onion.
Accompanied with Lichi Mojito (S$5) which refreshing with lime, lychee, sour plum, and mint leaves in it.

brown butter is my favourite flavour here! tasted very spiced and not too sweet. and the cone was to die for. best waffle cone in sg. toasted and slightly eggy and crisp😋
I preferred the Crispydoori (fried) to the OG (baked) for its crunch and heavier-spiced sauce🐓🔥 The masala fries though thick, were reallyyyy crispy and made better dipped in harissa mayo.
