I really loved and enjoyed the bakmi I had in Indonesia and was looking for an equivalent in Singapore that sold the dry, braised version. Kulon is a good substitute to quell that craving. If you’ve had the Chinese zha jiang mian before, think of this as a less sweet, but way more savoury bowl of noodles. Noodle texture wasn’t as qq as expected in other reviews, but the sambal merah really elevated the experience.

The iced lime juice is light, zesty, and ultra-refreshing. A crisp, citrusy contrast that’s perfect for cooling down after a bold, flavourful meal.
The avocado juice is thick, smooth, and wonderfully creamy, made from fresh avocado. Naturally sweet and indulgent, with a drizzle of chocolate adding a luscious finishing touch.

Es Jeruk Nipis 》$6.80
Jus Alpukat 》$8.80
Thick, tender pieces of chicken grilled over charcoal for that deep, smoky aroma, paired with an ultra-creamy peanut sauce. The sauce is smooth yet topped with bits of ground peanuts for added texture, leaning on the sweeter side but still packed with nutty richness 》$16.80
This grilled squid offers smooth, tender bites, coated in a glossy jimbaran sauce that delivers a rich sweetness with a subtle tang. While the sauce leans slightly on the sweeter side, the natural seafood flavour still comes through beautifully. Worth a try if you’re into sweet-savory seafood dishes 》$23.80
This dish is all about rich, earthy flavours and comforting textures. The tofu and tempeh are perfectly sautéed, soaking up a fragrant, savoury sauce that enhances their natural nuttiness. The long beans add a fresh crunch that balances everything out nicely. Mild and comforting, great for those who love Indonesian flavours without too much heat 》$12.80
The prawns were fresh and perfectly sautéed, soaking up all that rich, fragrant Padangnese green chili sambal. The sambal is bright, spicy, and full of flavour with just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Bold, punchy, and seriously satisfying. Best enjoyed with rice to balance the spice and mop up all that delicious sauce 》$19.80
Golden-fried chicken, smashed and smothered in a fragrant garlic chilli paste. It’s fiery, garlicky, and bursting with bold flavours.
The heat is intense but balanced, making each bite addictive rather than overwhelming. Best enjoyed with rice to soak up all that spicy, savoury goodness 》$15.80
Golden brown and beautifully crisp on the outside, these perkedel nails that perfect texture — crispy shell with a soft, savoury center. Made from fresh mashed potatoes and fried with egg, each bite is simple, comforting and satisfying. Great as a side, but honestly tasty enough to enjoy on its own 》 $7.80
Went to Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut for dinner and it did not disappoint! We had the Signature Fried Duck and Signature Chicken—both crispy and juicy, just how I like it. The Oxtail Stew was super flavourful, not too spicy, just right. Also tried the Tahu Goreng, and it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—perfect to go with the mains.
Food was hearty and satisfying, and service was spot on. If you're in the area and craving good Indonesian food, this place is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back for sure!

The fact that this joint has been in the Michelin guide for 4 years in a row is yet another confirmation that the Mich inspectors are clueless when it comes to judging non-western cuisine. The sambal is pretty unique, but otherwise the rice is not fragrant and the chicken very meh.
At the Lucky Plaza outlet, they even serve it in a paper box with plastic utensils - useless for the not-so-tender chicken.
