Kurma Chicken is a delectable Indian dish known for its rich and creamy curry made with a blend of aromatic spices and herbs. The term "kurma" refers to a style of Indian curry that typically includes a coconut-based sauce. In this case, the dish features succulent pieces of chicken cooked in a flavourful sauce made with a combination of whole and ground spices, as well as coconut and other herbs.
The curry used in Kurma Chicken is characterised by its thick and luscious consistency, which results from the use of coconut milk or grated coconut. The coconut adds a delightful creaminess and subtle sweetness to the dish, perfectly balancing the spices' flavours. The blend of spices used in the curry can vary, but it often includes ingredients like cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, cumin, and coriander, among others.
The tender pieces of chicken are simmered in the fragrant kurma sauce, allowing the meat to soak up all the delightful flavours. This combination of tender chicken and rich curry sauce creates a mouthwatering dish that is incredibly satisfying and comforting.
The Kurma Chicken is typically served with aromatic and fluffy basmati rice, known as Biryani rice. The flavours of the curry and rice complement each other beautifully, making it a popular and wholesome meal.
At The Roti Prata House, their rendition of Kurma Chicken Biryani stands out with its delicious curry chicken made with a harmonious blend of spices, coconut, and herbs. The fragrant biryani rice perfectly complements the flavours of the curry, making it a must-try dish for those seeking a taste of authentic Indian cuisine.

Had a plaster prata, one mushroom and cheese prata along with mutton curry and a drink. Set me back $13 which is I thought was reasonable for 2023!
First time trying the plaster and I can see why people like it very much. A runny egg yolk over any carb is the best comfort food ever ๐ Also enjoyed the mutton curry. Meat wasnโt too tough and the curry had the right amount of spice, nothing too overwhelming.
Prata and chicken Murtabak here was fantastic!!!
So crispy and tasty!
Classic late night supper to have to satisfy your itchy mouth when you not that hungry but still want to eat.๐
Don't be fooled by the fiery red noodles making you think it was spicy. It's not, just the colouring only. I remembered reading somewhere about why the Merah(Red) was added into the noodle. It was to make it more attractive/appealing/appetising/spicier. Food psychology 101. Heh!
Not sure how much it can psycho you, but this plate of Maggi is decent. Portion just nice for a not so hungry person. Savoury stir fry mamak goreng.
Oh... The drink at the back is Horlick Hot($1.50) by the way.

The midnight sinfulness of gluttony creeping on your soul for this. My...my...O heart this sinfully oily, chewy doughy yet crispy prata filled with margarine, sugar and maybe condensed milk?๐ค
A sweet savoury night indulgence to sin for. No need curry also nice.๐ฅ
Standard prata with egg that mixed well. Goes well with curry.
