This is a hidden menu item. Chanibo doesn't even mean anything lmao, unless it's a short form
It's pork belly shabu with oil poured over the scallions.
The pork belly is very good. There's this intensity of flavour and the texture is great as well, better than the ones we get here for sure. The oil is umami but not mindblowingly so. Hakata udon is softer than the normal ones, and there's a little bit of bite in the centre.
Overall very good bowl. But not great, nor worth the time queueing honestly(plus it's located in quite an ulu area so that's something you have to factor in also)
The owner really has personality. The song that's playing in the stall is literally his own song, and it's about udon and oil lmaoooo
But that also means he puts his spin on things, for example the excruciating queueing system. Everyone goes exactly in order, no matter how many seats are open. This means that if there are 2 seats open and the next in queue is a group of 3, the 2 seats are left empty until that one idiot finishes eating. You can imagine how darned inefficient the system is. This turns a 15mins queue into a 30mins queue. There's almost always an infuriating number of seats kept open. Queue was 11people long at 730am, 30mins after they open on a Sunday.
God damn it
Furthermore the sides are not seasoned. At all. They provide salt and msg but that's not the same is it
Oh my god.
Yet another discovery. This one was stunningly good, and I'm really glad my love for puddings paid off marvelously in the last pudding I try in Japan.
Firmly in the creamier side of textures, the super fluffy texture won me over immediately. Furthermore, there's this particular taste to it. Id say it's very close to an Uber strong milkiness, but that still doesn't quite capture it. Wtv the case, the pudding is godly
But it is not perfect. Unfortunately, the caramel is way too bitter.
I can't believe a convenience mart pudding almost took first place in my rankings.
MUST TRY!
Dining is only wed to sun. Google hours are retail hours
They still have the jeju pound cake on days they're open for dining. No more pulled pork burger though
What can I say. It's a wasted trip cos it tastes exactly like the Singapore branch
Mad props for their quality maintenance
A lot thinner than it seems on the pic
Also quite dry
Good seasoning, flavour and crunchy texture. However idk why it remains very hot even after a few minutes
Casual place, no cover charge or minimum order of drinks
This really isn't all that lol. Quite crunchy, the chewy texture is not good.
Passable, definitely not worth any queueing
Pictured 2 pax. This is the miso flavoured, theres also shoyu flavour
Things were cooked well, motsu is chewy tho. It's quite mild, somewhat sweet as well. It's alr cooked when they serve it to you. Portion is on the small side, I cleaned up the 2 pax portion alone
Pretty decent place, not the best
Wow.
The layer of azuki isn't too thick, because the balance of salt and sweetness has to be there. And almost perfectly balanced it was, if a little bit sweet.
Mochi itself was good too. it's soft and not too stretchy with the teeniest bite
To think I stayed on the same street as possibly the most famous wagashi shop in hakata and didn't know about it until my last day there.
Thankfully I stumbled upon this pillar of history before I flew.
However, stick to their traditional Japanese sweets. This gateau fromage is not well executed. And it has a bit of citrusy taste which is weird considering they have other flavoured ones
Skin was super thin and quite chewy, the matcha bean paste filling isn't good
