Highly recommended! Best to mix it all up a lil together with the miso marinated asparagus and edamame. Boosts up the overall flavour tremendously. Pickled cucumbers adds zesty kick and crunch. Not forgetting the oozy goodness from the onsen egg that wraps up the entire ninja bowl experience. Haha.

Add $2 for Ninja Rice/Orzo/Garden Greens or $3 for Quinoa. One of the more typical rice bowls amongst the Ninja Bowl selection. While I might urge you to try the other exciting bowls (unagi! beef cheek!), you can't really go wrong with fresh 🍣 salmon 🍣 sashimi

We tried almost all the bowls on the menu and our top favourites are:
Noka ($14, not in the photo) with unbelievably tender braised beef cheeks, Korean bean sprouts, mixed nuts, semi-dried tomatoes and onsen egg
Kaisen ($16) with super plump scallops and mussels with lemon butter sauce, mixed mushrooms and carrots
Genki ($16) perfect for unagi lovers, with superb pickled beets, bean sprouts, roasted pumpkin and onsen egg

Note that the prices do not include the base yet.
Add $2 for Ninja Rice (a mix of Japanese and brown rice), orzo (rice-shaped pasta) or garden greens, or $3 for quinoa.

While I’d rather go to Grain Traders for the tuna tataki/pulled pork/salmon fillet (and their generous bowls in general) and Aloha Poké for the salmon poké the more unique proteins mentioned are worth a visit.

With all the talk about healthy eating and the movement that came along, stayed and wouldn't go away. The options these days are endless.

Ninja bowl plays to the tune but with a Miyazaki twist.

Everything in the bowl screams Japan and we Japan crazy Singaporeans, welcome it with hungry arms.
The Unagi soft and luscious contrasting with the crunchy veges. The egg coats everything in liquid gold tying all the flavors in its awesome gooey mess.

You can almost see the sun rising in the glorious bowl.
Monster would bring this home and show it a good time tonight.

I was in for a treat at this little eatery tucked at the side of Shaw Foundation Alumni House in NUS. Featured here is their Wagyu Don ($17.90) that has loads of succulent beef, sous vide egg & topped with juicy ikura & salted veg that complements every mouthful of rice. For it's price tag, it's definitely worth it.
Good thing if you're from NUS as you'd get a 10% off! Too bad I was a tad late & couldn't get my hands on the Chirashi Don 😭

Thank you for attending our debut Gourmet Affair Meetup by Coffee & Cravings and Gourmet Adventures last night! We're so glad that everyone had such a fantastic time making new friends and indulging in delicious tapas by East 8! Here's a shot of one of the top favorites of the night—A.L.T (avocado, lemon, tuna). Fresh chunks of tuna sashimi is drizzled in soy and lemon, and accompanied by cubes of creamy avocado. Cooked with Japanese soup stock and infused with bacon, this comforting Asian risotto is completed with hon shimeji mushrooms and a glorious sous vide egg.

Clearly it's a tomato based spagetti but it's far from boring. The "dashi" and white wine brighten things up considerably, turning it into a seriously gratifying plate of pasta.

Their aglio olio pasta is as mouthwatering as ever with copious amounts of garlic and chilli flakes but taking it up a level is a big dollop of torched "mentaiko" sauce. This thick, mayo-like topping is completely saturated with marinated pollock and cod roe, adding a luscious, savoury creaminess to every bite of the pasta. I like how a squirt of fresh lemon juice brightens the flavour mix further. Thumbs up for yumminess!
