Mee siam with bee hoon, tau pok, bean sprouts and hard-boiled egg in a tangy and sweet-spicy gravy. It is difficult to find mee siam with the right proportion of sweetness and sourness. Some people prefer it sweeter while some prefer it to be more sourish with that zing.

The mee siam here is on the sweeter side and it is overpowering the sourness a mee siam should have. I felt the gravy to be too watery/diluted 》$3

This was a disappointment. The noodles were overcooked and clumped all together, making it very sticky and difficult to separate them. No one likes overcooked and mushy noodles. The seasoning, char siew and wonton were alright. Just a very normal bowl of wanton noodles with noodles done wrong 》$3

There’s just something about this stall’s wanton mee (located at Hougang 401 KPT coffeeshop) that keeps me coming back for more! The combination of the springy noodles mixed with the sauce mix brings out a nostalgic old school taste that is just so appealing! They are open till late too, which makes it a good supper option!

My go-to old-school wanton mee. This wanton mee tastes like kindergarten lol. On some days it's very wet, this day it's this dry, but still good. Lard peppered throughout, passable char siew, and wantons with salted fish, which is how they should be. The comfort of their noodles also remind me of a bygone era where every stall cooks their noodles properly.

Pomfret fried till crispy on the outside while retaining its soft and succulent flesh on the inside. The lala are a little plain without any seasoning but mix it with the sambal chilli and they are all good. It also comes with a sunny side up. I feel it is very worth it for the price paid. A good and affordable place to get your bbq seafood cravings fixed 》$7

This stall in the coffee shop serves good and economical bbq sets. They offer a variety of fish and seafood combinations like stingray, selar / kemong, mackerel, black pomfret, sotong, lala, and prawn.

I ordered the stingray and lala set that comes together with a sunny side up and a generous serving of sambal chilli. The chilli is more spicy than sweet but still complimented well with the bbq seafood. The seafood used were fresh, stingray grilled well with a slight crisp on the outside, retaining the juiciness inside while the lala were plain as they were not cooked/tossed with chilli. We just have to mix the chilli well with the seafood and they are good to go with rice 》$7
