The 微辣 soup base already has a good kick. It’s tangy, sour and just the right amount of spice for me. Any spicier and I’d be out but at this level it’s warming without being overwhelming. The rice noodles are smooth and springy, soaking up all that broth beautifully.

With chewy tofu skin, crunchy cabbage, slippery kelp and tender fish slices, every bite has a different texture. Bold, slurpy and honestly perfect for a cold day 》$10.80

Tried the pork and chicken set and left feeling underwhelmed. The sizzling hotplate looked promising but the meat was rather tasteless, lacking seasoning and depth. Even with the garlic and sauce, it didn’t quite come together.

The rice and soup were standard fillers and while the portion was decent, the overall meal felt more functional than flavourful 》$11.80

📍Teppanyaki Bento 鉄板焼き弁当 | #01-42

Torched slices of tender pork belly over rice, topped with chilli powder, seaweed, crunchy tempura bits and a side of pickles for that tangy crunch. The smoky pork with the spice and crisp textures makes each bite satisfying, while the pickles cut through the richness nicely. A hearty, balanced bowl that feels like a good neighbourhood coffeeshop find 》$8.50

📍Ishiro Fusion Bowl

The teppan grilled pork with black pepper sauce was tender, savoury and had a nice peppery kick. Each set comes with bean sprouts, broccoli, corn, rice and soup, making it a complete and filling meal.

For a coffeeshop setting, it’s actually quite decent with generous portions, flavourful and definitely value for money 》$8

📍Teppan Secret

Crispy prawn paste cutlet with that bold har cheong flavour — salty, savoury and punchy. Served with fluffy rice and a runny egg that adds a silky richness. The chilli sauce helps to cut through the heaviness and tying everything together 》$7.70

Silky noodles in a rich, herbal broth with tender slices of lean pork. Perfectly comforting, especially on a rainy night when all I want is something warm and nourishing 》$5

Served piping hot in a claypot, the silky, chewy mee tai mak absorbs the savoury broth beautifully, delivering a warm and comforting bite. The minced meat, egg and fresh vegetables add some contrast, but a more generous portion of ingredients would make the dish feel more substantial and satisfying. While the seasoning leans a little salty, a slight adjustment would bring out a smoother, more balanced flavour 》$6

Two of Tony Cafe’s most popular items are the delicious deep-fried chicken wing rice and honey wings. The fried chicken wings batter is thin and crispy outside, and juicy inside. It is even better when paired with chicken rice and chilli. The other item on the menu worth mentioning is their savoury honey wings which I was lucky to get my hands on both on the day of my visit. The rest of their cai png dishes were decent as add-ons to a complete meal. There are limited seats, so prepare to wait for a seat during peak hours. Note that fried chicken wings are only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I had a delicious bowl of mee sua that was well-soaked in a flavourful broth filled with herbal goodness. The pork slices were generous and lean, and the texture of the mee sua was silky smooth without being too mushy even after sitting in the soup for some time. It was a satisfying and hearty meal with every bite being full of meaty and herbal flavours 》$4.50

The must-have item on Botak Jones menu has to be the double baked cheese potato. Creamy mashed potato mixed with cheese and topped with even more cheese. This is just sinfully delicious 》$5

I frequently come back here for this plate of chewy and gelatinous skin that is so soft and delicate, it literally melts in the mouth and makes me go mmm! 》$2

This is something worth indulging in once in a while. The brown sauce is thick and gooey with subtle sweetness from the crustacean. Prawns were deshelled, plump and served as a whole together with fresh and firm halved crayfish. The crustacean is fresh and well cooked with natural sweetness 》$10

There are other combinations on the menu that comes topped with ingredients such as crayfish, prawn, chicken, abalone mushroom, pacific clam and fresh prawn wanton.

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
