Grub is tucked away behind Balestier Road but walkable from Toa Payoh Central. Great lunch sets at $12 for a fruity fizzy drink plus bowl of grilled chicken oyakodon, or their delicious beef noodles with both minced and sliced beef. I was surprised a hidden place like this in Home Team club could be this good.
The most we can do for each other is to accommodate as best as we can.
In a family, do you have diverse opinion about meal choices? This always happen in my family when we need to dine out on weekend and often we need to choose a place with a good mix of Asian and Western.
Dish of the day:
1) Gyu-don @sgd9
2) Grub Cheeseburger @sgd15
3) Har Cheong Gai Waffles @sgd14
4) Milo Godzilla Churros Sundae @sgd8
Can you guess which dish belongs to my son, my hubby and me? I love there are choices between Western and Asian at Grub. Food portion is quite generous, there are 2 pieces of Har Cheong Gai for the waffle and the meat patty for the cheeseburger is really thick.
If you enjoyed outdoor venue overlooking the swimming pool, you can try this place.
Came here because of a Chope 1-for-1 voucher if not probably wouldn't have known this place existed otherwise.
Burgers here are around $14-$20. Got the double Cheeseburger. Burger was fairly average. Patty was thick, bouncy, though a bit on the dry side. Sauces are standard and turns the lower bun into mush. Nothing very innovative or surprising with the flavours here. They do have other more interesting burgers so if you get a Cheeseburger, this is probably what you should expect. A fairly standard Cheeseburger.
I'll say I've had better burgers elsewhere at the same price. Wouldn't make a special trip down.
The place is outdoor seating without aircon. It can be quite nice since it's next to the swimming pool. But it's also next to the karaoke lounge so you'll have some karaoke background music to go with your meal.
For a burger place, I have to say that beef noodles was much better than the burger. Cheeseburger tasted average due to the lack of seasoning on the beef patty. #RIPpoorcow
However, the beef noodles was the hero here. Chewy noodles flooded with minced beef. Even the soup was overflowing with beef slices. This š didnāt die in vain.
SGD$9.90, ordered via grabfood.
Churros: inside the sticks were so soggy and bland even through they were coated with tons of sugars.
Dark chocolate sauce: it didnāt really taste like any real dark chocolate. It was so watery that I threw it away after one dip.
Yuzu white chocolate sauce: I love white chocolate so I expected a little high from this but maybe because itās mixed with yuzu, I didnāt really like it so I didnāt finish it either.
Result: Iāll never go back again for their churros.
Beef noodle ($16.90) with different types of beef topping - sliced, minced and beef ball.
Soup with sliced beef was the best part of the meal. Portion of noodles was quite overwhelming.
