Exploring Fun Places

Since the start of the Covid situation, there was a greater need to explore more food options in order to “dabao”.

Thus, I chanced upon Stuff’d and became a big fan of their Kebab. Even though it might not look that impressive, the kebab is full of vegetables which will make you relatively full. The chicken is also well cooked with great flavour as well! Overall, a balanced and healthy meal at a good price point.

If you are feeling rich, do try the daily bowl option as well. You will be able to choose 5 toppings for your bowl on top of the default meat and vegetable options. Some great options includes mashed potato, soba, sautéed carrots and broccoli.

Great option to balance the unhealthy part of your diet :P

Finally, the first cafe visited post Covid! Decided to visit Two Cranes as it is relatively near my place.

Instead of ordering cafe food, we decided to try their korean dishes to see if they serve authentic Korean food. Thus, we ordered the bibimbap and the Korean army stew.

Bibimbap was great, with good serving of ingredients. If only it was served with Korean beansprouts, but nonetheless great on flavour. Army stew was good as well, and the add-on portion of noodles ($1 additional) was generous as well (almost meant for 3 pax serving lol). I would suggest spending on the add on for ham/sausages as those were more limited in the portion. Nonetheless, good portion to be shared among two with thick, rich broth.

Look forward to trying their korean fusion menu (dalkaibi with scrambled, and korean fusion pasta) the next visit 😋

Finally visited Two Bakers, which replaced Scissors Paper Stone previously. Visited in the afternoon with no reservations, and the place was packed. We could only secure a table after 20 minutes of waiting, so do make your reservations in advance if you wish to go down for brunch.

As we have already eaten lunch, we decided to try out their famous dessert, Goma. It’s a tart filled with rich black sesame filling, and contrasted with salted caramel. The salted caramel added another dimension to the dessert, ensuring that it won't be overly sweet due to the black sesame. Black sesame filling was rich and thick with flavour as well. Indeed a signature!

Look forward to going down again for brunch next time :)

Decided to spend my birthday at this outlet. Food wise is good. Service wise might be lacking due to the lunch crowd.

The sad part is that it was my birthday but nothing special was provided even though they were informed when my gf made the reservation.

Still a good experience though HDL would have provided a better experience (celebrated at HDL last year).

The Osaka Osho here also serves the food from Yonehachi, which means the best of both worlds!

The glutinous rice of Yonehachi is totally comfort food, while the set meals of Osaka Osho comes with great variety. Great place with great value!

Found another hidden Gem around the area of Tanjong Pagar. Most of us would have queued for the Keisuke ramen, but not notice this place.

The exciting part of the place is that they do not just offer gyoza, but also two side dishes for the set meal. The fried chicken, scrambled egg and ginger pork are all great! Gyoza is flavourful as well, with a juicy filling.

The best part, free flow rice and soup! What a find!

Totally worth the queue! This white chrysanthemum flavour is so refreshing. Strong taste but not too sweet as well. The waffle cone is made on the spot and has a strong taste as well. Go for the cone instead of cup.

If you are craving Taiwanese food badly and cannot afford to buy a plane ticket to Taiwan, this is as close as you can get!

That Taiwanese braised pork rice is so flavourful, with a good mix of lean and fatty pork. The gravy goes so well with the rice that you could easily finish a bowl of it. The shredded chicken rice is quite good as well, and also the mee sua.

Strongly suggest you go for the 3 bowls specialty so that you get a taste of all three dishes!

Standard dimsum place to satisfy your dimsum craving. Always like the Siew mai and har gao from here.

Do take note that meal timings might be full so do come early!

Not our first time to this place, but I always love the tendon here. Full of ingredients and great sauce, and very filling.

Sadly I think the price has been increasing. So do take note.

Going to Chin Chin is like going back home for dinner. It feels very homely and the food is not mind blowing, but more of your basic comfort food.

For those with a chicken rice craving, you found the spot!

The great thing about this place is that it’s quite empty at night, so you could slowly slurp on your beef pho while savouring the taste of that delicious broth.

Seriously, even the grilled chicken dry pho is great too!
