We ordered 2 bowls of seafood soup at $7.50 each and while my counterpart enjoyed the soup, he did not finish it, which was not typical. I personally did not enjoy it as much as the soup came warm, not hot, which was disappointing for any soups served. There were 2 big prawns, generous portions of soup and 3 big chunks of handmade pork ball (minced rolled balls). It's perhaps my personal take that the minced rolled balls were too huge for a soup which is called 'seafood'. Unami flavour was strong, but unfortunately, as mentioned, not hot enough. Me and counterpart have conflicting viewpoints about this soup.

Since I am around this area, drop by to Yan Ji Seafood for a comforting bowl of Crayfish Seafood Soup ($13.50). Crayfish, dory fish, prawn, and huge meat balls in Umami rich broth, worth the trip.

Yan ji has opened several branches now but it's always good to come and try the OG one. While it's franchised it seems that the owner of this stall isn't actually related to the rest, she mentioned that she doesn't know how the rest taste.

Rest assured though, having tasted both I would say it's very similar. The original is salty and that's why there isn't too much broth, while the other branches give as much soup as you expect for a normal seafood soup place.

Otherwise the seafood is always cooked to perfection, the soup actually takes a back seat and becomes more of a gravy for the rice, and the meatballs with dried solefish are as delicious everywhere

Not only is this place the OG it's probably also the most affordable. That said you're paying for Aircon and more soup at the gourmet places

The red grouper seafood soup comes with ingredients such as slices of red grouper, 3pcs of tiger prawns, handmade minced pork balls, chunks of tomatoes and fish maw. The unami seafood soup is savoury and naturally sweet from the seafood. The red grouper was fresh and succulent while the prawns came with a nice crunch with sweetness. This is a perfect hot bowl of unami seafood soup with rich flavours to counter the cold evening weather 》$12 + $1 Fish Maw

Just discovered Yan Ji Seafood Soup and this is probably my favourite seafood soup in singapore. It’s on the pricier end with soups starting from $13 but it’s worth it cos the portion sizes are massive and the amount of ingredients in each bowl is insane. Look at the size of the crayfish!! Madness.
