From Hai Teng Wanton Mee
云吞面
$4.50 portion of wanton mee.
Classic style, good serving of char siew, springy noodles, 2 cooked wanton in the slighty peppery soup.
Not bad indeed.
Generous portion of noodles with a strong wokhey flavor. The ingredients aren't a lot but has a variety of seafood, meat and veg. Overall, not too intense, but the flavor builds up.

@ Ubi blk 301 food house, had a bowl of Mee Soto for $3.50. Pretty light mix of spices, topped with chilli and begedil. Shredded chicken with crunchy bean sprouts brings out the kumpung feeling. Burpppp!!! What's next? #sedap
If you like Wanton Mee cooked the old school way, you should definitely try this. Loved the simple chilli based sauce mixed with the springy noodles. Wished more sauce was given tho. The Wanton Soup was good too.
Ordered the original Black Carrot Cake and Tom Yum Carrot Cake. Found the Tom Yum Carrot Cake too salty, the Black Carrot Cake was good tho. Some food are best eaten the traditional way.
This particular plate ($3.00/$4.00) from a inconspicuous little coffee shop at Ubi managed to satisfy me with its QQ noodles, amazing chilli and crispy wantons.
The noodles did not get soggy even by the end of the plate, and the chilli was sufficiently spicy, lending a pleasant 'kick' to the otherwise mild flavours of the dish.
To top if off, the milo beng ($1.50) I had at the coffee shop was one of the thickest and most 'gao' I've had, certainly making for a pleasant meal. #burpple
