Islandwide delivery available! Craving for thunder tea rice but doesn’t want to leave your house? This is it! Wouldn’t say I like the basil chicken, it was slightly too dry for me. My favourite would be the chicken patty!
i love thunder tea rice!!! it is so affordable (~$5) and so yummy yet healthy too 😊
There are chopped long beans, “chye sim”, shredded cabbage, tofu, crispy ikan bilis, dried shrimp, peanuts and “chye poh” laid nicely on the brown rice. Mix the ingredients with brown rice well before tucking in. I’m not a fan of the green gravy (or soup) as it’s concentrated with mint, coriander, basil and other herbs. I prefer to keep my green gravy separated and pour it bits by bits with my rice. Overall, a healthy yummy bowl of rice!
(S$5.80, free delivery if you ordered above S$80)
Surprisingly the soup was not pungent with coriander flavour! I'm totally adverse to Chinese parsley or coriander but this soup was good. All the elements in the rice bowl worked together but I felt the ikan bilis really elevated the mixture in terms of the saltiness plus crunch. Hits the spot when you want a nice bowl of thunder tea rice.
Either love it or hate it. I personally love it cuz I love brown rice and the key ingredient is actually the green paste. If you don’t like mint and coriander pls avoid!
