Opting for additional Chinese rice wine into my bowl of 鱼头米 (Fish Head Bee Hoon) certainly makes it much more aromatic then it usually is. Tried the “Dragon Balls”, make up of fish, prawn, squid paste and deep fried till golden brown - nice and Q to the max. The 椒盐虾 is also another must try!!! Yummy!!! 😬😬😬👌👌
If you are craving for Hokkien Mee place around Titiwangsa or Sentul area, Restoran Aik Yuen aka Tawakal Dai Chao might can satisfy your craving. If you are wondering why are they calling the restaurant as Tawakal Dai Chao, it is because the restaurant located just behind Hospital Tawakal, next to SJK(C) Chiao Nan. Food in frame: (From above to below) Fried Kuey Teow Telur (月光河) (RM9.50). It's actually mixture of fried kuey teow with an uncooked egg, which makes the kuey teow more smooth and delicious. Fried Singapore Bihun (星洲米) (RM8.50) cook with sprouts, eggs, fish cakes and Chinese sausage. Compare with others, their fried bihun is not that dried up and it is full with flavours of Chinese sausage. Hokkien Stir-Fried Rice Cakes (RM9.50) aka Fried Pek Ke. To be honest you can't find any similar taste of fried rice cakes from other place. The chewy texture of rice cakes and the sauce will definitely make you craving. However, the location might be a problem for people since Jalan Pahang is famous with traffic jam, plus you might need some time to look for parking. The place will be more crowded around 8pm to 10pm. Currently open daily, except Wednesday.
Finally found a place in KL that serves 月光河, the superior cousin of the traditional Chinese “Wat Dan Hor”. It definitely has the important elements of a “Dai Chow”, the “Wok Hei” and a generous portion of pork lard! Parking is not an issue and food is fast.
