King mackerel was meaty and firm. It's smothered in a soft spice paste and grilled in banana leaf
The spices were very unique, but still easy to get used to. Touch of sweetness and acidity were present and there's quite a bit of heat. Honestly the paste was kind of tomatoey, but complex nonetheless and thus really lovely.
This was not too bad either.
Overall the food here was good and unique but not too out there, and for the quality somewhat pricey
Mutton in white sauce. It's kind of like a cream sauce but not too heavy, very comforting and the myriad of mild spices make it very understatedly complex. Mutton was tender too. I think it's enjoyable but doesn't leave a lasting impression because of the light flavours, however my dining partner loved this
Still worth a try tho
This style can't be cooked in bamboo, only the basmati rice can be cooked in bamboo
But why choose basmati rice when u can choose this premium grain. The jeerakasala rice is shorter and very flavourful, being known to go well with ghee. It really was absolutely delicious despite being just white rice(there's no gravy or anything). This in itself was worth a try, esp with the amazingly aromatic fried onions
Goat was tender too, very well executed, exactly like mutton tbh but mildly marinated
There's 2 sides: marinated plum which was spicy and super tangy, as well as kind of a pesto tbh, mainly minty but not too strong at all
Their payasam was very different, there's the caramelly sweetness as usual but it's got beans or something inside, there's this soft fibrous texture that's very prevalent.
Overall the biryani is a must try, very very different from the norm and still delicious
One such place is Swaadhisht, an authentic Indian restaurant that specializes in Kerala cuisine. One such dish that is highly recommended is the Pomfret Pollichathu ($13), which is prepared by first marinating and then frying the fish, before its covered in a masala sauce that contains ginger, garlic, onion, tomato and chillis, wrapped in a banana leaf and then cooked over low flame in a pan. To go along with the fish, we had the Malabar Chicken Biryani, Gobi Manchurian and Garlic Naan. However, what shines through is definitely the fish as the other items were the standard Indian fare.

No doubt this is the dish to have it before leaving. By its first look, you might expect a dry and hard fried chicken. BUT it was a very surprisingly dish. The chicken was marinated with masala mix which soften the meat. The masala kept all the juicy within while frying. The more I chew more of the flavors released.

Recently my friends were discussing about good Indian restaurant. Suddenly the image of this Restuarant popped out. It was a place which I visited almost 7 years ago. A humble little Indian restaurant which was so unrated. .

Lightly deep fried cauliflower and mixed with spicy Indian spices. This is the BEST cauliflower dish I had. I don't know how much oil they used but this was outstanding. The fluffy texture been wrapped with a light layer of spices. A squeeze of lime had to reduce the hot and excited the palate!
