A casual izakaya tucked in the Telok Ayer CBD area. We tried the crab gratin, skewers, dried cod fish chips with tartar sauce, and the spicy salmon don. The cod fish chips were a nice surprise, especially with the tartar sauce we could eat loads of it, wish there were more, while the spicy salmon don was flavourful and satisfying, love the spicy kick. Good spot for a casual meal and drinks after work.

This place serves the best crab gratin! So cheesy and gooey. Good for sharing with friends. Some other food that we love are the mini dons - the spicy salmon don is great, and not too filling that we can still order other dishes for sharing such as the skewers. 10/10 will return

Really enjoyed the food at Shukuu Izakaya! The grilled skewers were nicely charred and full of flavour. The grilled fish was another favourite, especially the crispy skin and tender meat.

The fried dish was also pretty good, with a crunchy coating and a dipping sauce that went well with it. The beef and lotus root was surprisingly delicious too!

I liked the overall vibe of the restaurant as well. It’s cosy without feeling too formal, and the sake presentation gives it that proper izakaya feel.

Would recommend this place for a casual dinner if you’re craving Japanese dishes and sake. Definitely keen to come back and explore more of the menu.

Loved the cosy, intimate vibe of this little izakaya in the CBD. The warm lighting and Japanese-inspired decor made it feel like a hidden gem, perfect for a relaxed dinner.

The katsu was one of my favs, so crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Also, paired perfectly with the sake the staff recommended! Tried some skewers and seasonal dishes and everything was delicious! Definitely worth visiting!
