[CLOSED] PocoLoco (Wisteria Mall)

Ordered this and the mentaiko pasta. This was bland, not much crab meat even though they said it was crab meat pasta. Mentaiko pasta sauce tasted like water, bland and tasteless. Will not go back again.

This plate of Granchio ($14.90) packed a hearty seafood sweetness, as the al dente pasta were evenly cloaked in a shimmering coat of delectable sauce. Moreover, a good amount of tender crab meat lurked between the strands, adding to the mouth feel and flavour.

It's hard being a student, you know. Good food deals only come at weird hours (2-5pm too early for dinner too late for lunch), and then all the GST and service charge turns your bill into an accounting horror.

But this. This is just. Affordable. Ramen. Sums it all up, really.

I had tonkotsu ramen ($8.90)!! Nett!!!!!!!

Soup: I'm a huge sucker for Tonkotsu. The broth was rich, but the msg aftertaste was a bit strong.

Noodles: Did you know that ramen originated from China? The noodles here really reminded me of you mian - same consistency when chewed upon, but it didn't turn soggy in soup!

Charsiew: By far, the best part of the meal - it was tender, juicy and had a slightly salty aftertaste to it.

All in all, good meal for broke students studying in Yishun

Dinner was preplanned in advance using CHOPE (and using promo code CHOPE99 to earn double points this week). While lunch was an impromptu suggestion from colleague - and that's how I ended up eating 2 pasta meals in one day.🙊 Opted for clams in white wine coz I was trying to avoid cheese (as the mushroom pasta I had for lunch caused me problems again hurhur). But there were sand here and there in the clams. 😐 first and last time eating vongole clam pasta ($11++). As for the pizza, we had the bacon with mushroom ($13++). Looked 👀 not bad. Pate was a tab too mushy. Wished for some toasts 🍞 to spread the pate on.

Pasta with crabmeat in pink sauce. Generous helping of crabmeat with creamy pink sauce. Tasty! Pasta had a nice al-dente texture to it. Worth every cent!
