Basically the star dish of the night. This is a no-frills dish, and what you see is what you get - a humongous plate of calamari served freshly fried. While it may seem like a lot at first, it'll probably get wiped out in no time. The batter is really good - it remains crunchy and crispy, and is rather flaky. It doesn't turn soggy unlike the more common types we see. Really just a plate of sinful goodness. Excellent for sharing. This may not seem spectacular compared to other snazzy new places that have sprung up recently, but their many options and hearty local dishes really makes this a favourite hang out be it for dinner or supper. Really good discovery #bestfoodmemory2015
A really simple dish, but so so good! The rich was super tasty and flavourful, with loads of fresh seafood. And of course, it never hurts to have it wrapped in a yummy omelette. But the best part was that the dish was garnished with fried ikan bilis. This gave it a crunchy texture that made each bite even more satisfying. It also added an extra saltiness, but not too overpowering like in the case of salted fish. This is a good dish to order when you're here!

Nicely fried and well-spiced. Wasn't covered in thick batter so it wasn't too gelat. But it was a little dry, and after a couple pieces didn't really taste like anything special - it gets pretty run of the mill after a while.
Comfort food at its best. The noodles were nice and springy, and quite tasty. The seafood was rather sparse, with only a few strips of squid and two prawns (which I had to peel! Pet peeve). It went nicely with the egg. Portion wasn't too big, so it's quite manageable. For the price, I wouldn't say it's particularly worth it though. Tasted good but very similar to our char kway teow. Priced at $6.50
What makes a good Mee Bundung would definitely be the sour sweet and spicy gravy, the rendition at Mas Ayu would be one that has the 3 in a well balanced manner, and got me well addicted. Littered with fish cakes, prawns, vege, what's special is that they include pieces of tender beef and that poached egg (similar to the one at SAJC).
You guys gotten try it for yourself and definitely a good soupy bowl for this dreadful rainy weather tonight!
Burpple is definitely a good place to find food and share food recommendations 😋
