Happy Saturday happy pineapple tarts!
Thanks to Dana and @outofthecakebox I got to make a bunch of delicious, melt in your mouth, colorful flower pineapple tarts! Love them, can’t stop eating them....
It’s Out of the Cake Box’s third anniversary so many of their classes are on sale now! Quick try some! They are such a steal at $53.33, $73.33!
Waited 45 mins for this; off-peak, barely a few tables occupied.
Very 'eggy' bread (the ones we whip up for a last min breakfast) , sour kaya ganache that not only has a weird colour, but taste and texture, desiccated coconut that's reminiscent of phoon huat packaged ones. The saving grace was the ice cream and that splash of Gula Melaka.
Not too sweet but the elements just do not blend well. I had to pair everything with the ice cream to get some sense of what the dish was dreaming to be like. $15.90. I'll rather go for the real deal that's one decimal place behind.
$18.50. Scrambled eggs. One of the fluffiest and richest among sg cafes. Huge love.
Breakfast set ($8.90) comes with a hot coffee, love the soft sourdough muffin paired with fluffy scrambled eggs.
$8
I think I ordered just shoestring fries? Inconsistency in crispiness..
Populous scramble $18.50
Perfectly seasoned and creamy scrambled eggs, the 'fold' kind. Crispy multigrain toast. Nothing to fault but abit ex leh.
$14. Drenched in 3-cheese sauce. Kids will love it.
Always loved the ambience and service here. (Yes there's wifi to do work and watch the world go by) Thought the coffee and food were just supplementary. Tried their revamped food menu this visit and was pretty impressed by this pizza-like dish. Maximum satisfaction of mozzarella and loved the smoked duck breast! Crust had a good bite albeit being thin and crispy. But I still don't get why its called 'Chinatown'.
$6. Good enough!
Parma ham with egg $8
Not a fan of the Parma but I must say I really like the thick, crispy and fluffy toastbox-like toast and the creamy scrambled eggs seasoned to perfection. Vibes really worth the price!
$99 for this beef platter, blowtorched right before your eyes. Accompanied with truffle mushroom sauce, garlic chips, sea salt and some tartar-mustard sauce (which I thought was a tad redundant), I would say that it's a pretty magical medium-rare cook on the beef and party in the mouth; with the right amount of fat, chewiness and charred-ness to it albeit not being a beef fan at all.
Cheese bagel here is shiok
