I tried the squid ink flavor at $4.90. Not much squid flavor but great crispy batter, chewy thick mochi layer, and love the cheese melted and sausage in the middle! The only thing I would ask is can the sausage be filling up the entire batter? And cheese coating the sausage please? The spicy ketchup made my lips and mouth numb. No joke.

Sesame and seaweed shaker fries - to be honest, I was intrigued yet doubtful at the same time.. but hurray I have a new fave snack to go to for the next few weeks or months it’s available.
The pleasure of shaking fries in the bag to coat it evenly with the powder is so stress-relieving!! And surprisingly, the sesame oil goes really well with the seaweed flavor, adding another dimension of complexity to the umami of seaweed. Crispy fries with delicious flavor!! Yay! Who cares how much MSG is there? At least for however long shaker fries are available... and always, in moderation!

Mini specials at The Great Food Festival #tgff. Was really excited to see a deconstructed mooncake and new interpretation of the eclairs. Minis not usually available at the actual location unless ordered at least a day before for high tea. Also moonclairs were said to not be sold after end sept. I liked that the salted yolk in the middle was not so sweet. The top cookies were yums also. But I was so so on the lotus paste and the eclair based. Nice to try but not next time.

Chicken, usually not my thing. But I’ve been reminiscing about this delicious stuffed and fried chicken by Chef Abel @magicsquare.sg yum yum yum. I love the Mochi stuffed in the boneless wing, so much chewiness and fluffy like melted muah chee. The glaze was finger licking good of honey and light amounts of Szechuan peppercorn giving you some hint of numbness. I’m not ashamed to say I cleaned my wings and demolished the glaze left on the plate 😜😋😋😋😜
this was among the 9 dishes I had at the dinner tasting by @magicsquare.sg , comes up to about $96 with free flow water. I really love the idea of a chef incubator, allowing 3 talented young chefs like Chef Abel to polish and home their skills! I can’t tell Chef Abel has never owned his own restaurant if you didn’t tell me - all the love and thought fusing his western skills with unique Asian flavors. And so delicious!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼You can have this lovely wings as part of lunch (3 course, fri and sat only for 38++) and dinner (9 course, for 75++) till end Oct!! Abit ulu at Wessex estate to get to but definitely worth it (just take 191 from one north or buona vista for 5-10 mins).
Can’t wait to bring my lovely hb when he visits, and hopefully we get more delicious chicken!!

Heart Attack Fried Rice and minimum 600g of USDA beef. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Simple task to demolish by 3 people. $14 per 100g and comes with a giant plate of beef-fat fried rice and wedges. Still can to go fried rice home!!
Love the beefy flavor, the tender and rich meat. I added the salt flakes to accent the beef richness. Definitely worth the trip to Hill View @newubinseafood - much better than Chijmes. The unique location in the carpark, open air, surrounded by trees. Quite kampung. Remember to like new ubin fb page to get a free glass of lime juice! Will be back. My tasty beef. Yum.

Welcome meal and must-have in Sydney! My favorite ramen in SEA/Ozzy at @chaco_bar Sydney! So yummy - I really enjoy the Yuzu scallop! Light and flavorful soup I haven’t had anywhere else. Remember to add the egg - nicely flavored and amazing texture💖 they even serve lunch till 2:30pm. No wait at 2pm and remember to bring your cash to pay at the counter!

Cruffins are here in SG!! Has the delight of having baked goods from bakery brera at Science Cafe Infuse!! Thrina was so generous and gave so many free breads to take home (but I didn’t get any sadly). Cruffin is an amazing version of muffin and croissant. It was not too sweet and the chocolate was amazing with a taste of cherry.
Very excited to head to bakery brera just located next to Farrer park circle line station for authentic baguette, sourdough and the seemingly endless selection of pastries! Thank you to the Infuse team at A*STAR for another wonderful and sumptuous evening!

Can’t beat these salted egg yolk mochi balls. My favorite dessert in SG! Attack it while it’s warm, take a gentle bite and be careful of the rich delicious lava that will spill from within.
The delicious salted egg flavor and chewy mochi is the best combi!! The coconut sorbet is light and refreshing, and amazing with the cornflake and nut bits. I would recommend two balls per person, it’s rather huge and might be difficult for one to finish...
Affirmed by many friends I recommended, this is a unique dessert not to be missed!

菠萝包Pineapple bun is a favorite of mine since I was young and thankfully, Tai Cheong bakery has brought authentic buns to SG. (PS there’s no pineapple in the bun. The crust is make of sugar and just looks uneven like pineapple skin)

I love the savory addition to the original sweet sugar top. Sadly, Gin from Baker’s brew said these cny treats are all sold out.. need to preorder and maybe you might get it. Next year I guess.

Reward to chase away Monday blues! Managed to get the flamed beef cubes from Huoyanshaiziniu after singing class today! Only short wait of 2 people at 8:30pm while there were like 10 people at 6:40pm.
Honestly, the dish is quite simple, just angus ribeye flamed and you have a choice of garlic or seaweed flavoring. The garlic complemented the ribeye well as mentioned by several other bloggers.
Love that the beef was perfectly cooked and good amount of fats. Very flavorful as well!! A little one dimensional at the end but a great snack to share with friends!
