There's better things to order from the menu than this inoffensive assorted rainbow roll of salmon tartare, bluefin tuna and yellowtail. I'd pick any of the meat sticks over this.
These statuesque shooters introduced the meal with flair. A cold appetiser of plump oysters submerged in a citrusy orange ponzu sauce, and in-lieu of Tabasco, a dash of heat by way of Momiji Oroshi - Japanese hot radish paste, created an enticing concoction of bright, punchy flavours.
I liked the look of these artfully plated lightly battered seaweed taco shells, filled to bursting with chopped tuna tartare, avocado, tomato salsa, wasabi mayo and topped with caviar. A medley of crunch, umami, acid and brininess made this a compact flavour bomb.
Refreshingly citrusy with a cheeky bit of heat that simmers at the back of the throat in contrast to the chilled cocktail. This makes for a pleasant lazy Sunday sundowner on the patio at @jypsysg 's Fullerton Waterfront outlet.
Ordered the chicken but got the prawn instead. 'Twas a happy accident because this was succulent and immensely tasty, especially with the accompanying zesty green ponzu sauce.
From the same group as P.S. Cafe, Jypsy serves up Japanese fusion food in an upscale yet casual space with relaxed vibes and plenty of warm tones. Naturally, if a riff of the famed P.S. Cafe shoestring fries were on the menu, we had to try them. The tower of crispy shredded potato impressed upon first sight, and definitely lived up to its presentation on first bite. It might have looked like alot, but we couldn't stop munching on these light yet tasty straws of lightly battered potato seasoned with white truffle oil and drizzles of teriyaki balsamic sauce. It maintained its crispiness even after having sat on the table for a while.
