You could find some articles about the stall on display at the front, selling authentic Teochew style fishball noodles here.

Seeing the uncle patiently preparing bowl by bowl, adding all ingredients before serving to your tray.

I find the noodles itself a bit harder to chew, but nonetheless overall taste still excellent with the minced pork, fishball and mushroom.

They formerly had 14+ stalls islandwide, but have since been reduced to this lone stall manned by the owner.
.
The soup is supposedly made with 18 ingredients, including old hen, turnip, and luncheon meat; resulting in a clear broth that carries bold sweet savoury flavour.
.
I also like their pork meat balls, which have a hollow center filled with minced meat. Bite in and the meat juice bursts out, with a satisfying meaty savoury salty flavour.
.
The braised shiitake mushrooms are thick sliced and chunky, with a pleasant tender chew and vegetal earthy salty sweet flavour.
.
The gravy coats the chewy mee pok / wide flat egg noodles well, and tends towards being more spicy savoury in taste, will suit those who prefer a milder vinegar taste.

It's certainly not mediocre, with the ingredients impressing me, but a brand synonymous with fantastic bcm has to deliver more.

I am sure many Ang Mo Kio residents will be familiar with Chai Chee Mushroom Bak Chor Mee. It is part of my childhood and I still remember having to queue for a long time to get my bowl of noodles. After 3 years of hiatus, owner Patrick is back in action and has been expanding very quickly over the past few months. Yes, they are still at the same location in Blk 727 Ang Mo Kio but they have also opened many outlets all over the island, including the newest one in Blk 28 Dover Crescent serving Teochew style BCM. His soup has about 18 ingredients added and Patrick goes around each outlet to cook it himself every morning. I went back to the Ang Mo Kio outlet and to be honest, it is not impressive when his stall assistants cook it. Thankfully, we spotted him in Dover Crescent outlet yesterday and are able to try his skillfully-tossed noodles again!
