There has been quite a number of new items that have been introduced in the menu of the favourite place of the late — whilst we had written about their new Scallion & Cream Cheese Filled Donut which also happens to be the only savoury donut option that they have to offer, Brawn & Brains Coffee has also released number of new dishes at its Hamilton Road outlet such as that of two quiche items and the Crispy Golden Onion Rings in the Sides | Salad | Soup section of the menu.

Noting how the Crispy Golden Onion Rings is a new offering on the menu at Brawn & Brains Coffee, it was needless to say that we had to give the item a go. The portion of Crispy Golden Onion Rings does seem to be manageable even as a side dish for one pax — apart from the deep-fried onion rings, it also comes with an accompanying dip on the side. The Crispy Golden Onion Rings works especially well as a light snack given how their onion rings only comes with a very light batter on the exterior; one that is not only crisp and not too greasy, but also complimented the thin onion rings very well — not in any way jelak. It also does come with a slight sprinkle of paprika powder that gives it a very light hint of spice, though the accompanying sriracha mayo-esquire dip does match well with the Crispy Golden Onion Rings being all creamy and tangy with a slight kick of spiciness that should be pretty manageable even for those whom have a low tolerance of spiciness. Something which we would find ourselves ordering of craving for something savoury to pair with our cuppa here without the carbs!

Omelette was deep fried nicely, crispy & fluffy but not much crab. Stir fried crab super generous.

Everything was cooked to perfection and served hot. The flavours are bold, and it’s clear a lot of thought goes into the preparation. Definitely a spot we’ll return to.

Paella is often considered the soul of Spanish cuisine, representing its rich cultural history, identity and communal spirit. It's a symbol of hospitality and togetherness.

Arroz Negro is a Valencian and Catalan form of seafood paella. Its signature black colour comes from squid ink and cuttlefish and it is usually made with garlic, green Cuban elle peppers, sweet paprika, olive oil and seafood broth.

I love its deep, umami-rich flavours of this dish - the uniquely earthy and mineral notes of the squid ink and the sweet savoury and oceanic essence of the seafood broth, enhanced by spices such as garlic, onions, smoked paprika and saffron which add more depth to the flavours.

I like that Tapas 24 serves a garlicky saffron aioli on the side as its rich and creamy elements complement the rich, briny and savoury flavours of the seafood. My only qualm is that the portion is a little on the small side!

Bing Duo Duo's Mango Pomelo is a tropical delight! Creamy milk-infused shaved ice is topped with luscious mango puree, juicy pomelo bits, diced mango, and chewy konjac jelly. Refreshing, sweet, and tangy 》$4.80

The unagi katsu is grilled and then deep-fried to a nice golden and crispy exterior, served with Japanese rice, truffle mushrooms, seaweed and pickles. It was not too greasy and the meat was juicy. I’m not a fan of katsu hence I prefer the pork belly don more than this 》$12.80

Grilled aburi pork belly with onsen egg, truffle mushrooms, seaweed, pickles and a choice of Japanese rice or salad. The meat was marinated and grilled nicely. The natural oil from the pork belly gives each spoonful a rich and smoky flavour 》$8.80

Ice cream and freshly baked hot lava cookie is just a wonderful post-dinner dessert / sweet treat. The delightful warm cookie with rich and oozing lava ganache pairs perfectly with the dairy-free and oat-based dirty matcha ice cream. I like their matcha ice cream which leans more bitter than sweet. The only downside is they do not allow flavour tasting.

Dirty Matcha Scoop 》$4.80 + $2 (Oat-Based)
Chocolate Lava Cookie 》$7.50

The woodfired pizza crust was just nice, not over chewy or crispy with ricotta cheese, prime Iberico pork sausage, pineapple, and sun-dried tomato 》$18

The all-time popular soft and tender pork ribs with smokey flavours. The meat was moist and so soft that it is falling off the bones with a slight pull. Served with potato au gratin, seasonal vegetables and grilled corn 》$23 (Half Slab)
