Not the most photogenic duck, but I guess it's a more accurate photo than the ones posted on danielfooddiary.

Went there for the 2 claypot dishes for $33.30 promo, and ordered the roasted duck with sea cucumber and pork shoulder with bittergourd in black bean sauce (not pictured).

The pork shoulder in black bean sauce was well done! The texture of the pork shoulder meshed well with the bitter gourd which wasn't too bitter, and the dish was rounded off with the umami black bean sauce and finished with Chinese wine. As for the duck, we were given a whole duck thigh + drum stick, and came with sea cucumber which were braised well, and a good amount of sweet peas for the crunch.

The dishes were quite decent, and I feel the price was rather reasonable given the top notch service and ambiance of the place. we paid $46 for the 2 dishes and 3 bowls of rice 😂

Quote danielfooddiary which gives you 2 complimentary drinks, where you can choose either red/white wine as well!

Not sure what's the hype about the fries. The combination of hoisin sauce, mayo and chili was just too weird and sickening for me.

The wings were pretty legit though, but was let down by it being slightly too sweet.

The place has a nice vibe to it, but probably won't come back for the food

Had the bottom bowl where I chose kangkung, black fungus, pork belly, beef and pork meatballs, cost me $11.5 including a bowl of rice, which wasn't as cheap as I expected it to be. Still a fair price as they were rather generous with the meat.

Had the medium spicy and i felt that it can be slightly spicier to really get that kick. It was also rather salty but I don't think there's anything you can do about it.

Worth trying if you're craving for spicy food!

Double chicken cutlets @ $6.5!

Well marinated chicken cutlets fried to perfection combined with the q-est eggy noodles doused in their signature 'red' sauce comes together for the perfect explosion of flavour in your mouth!

If you're a chicken cutlet noodle person (who isn't?), don't miss this out!

It was raining the whole morning so decided to have something hot and soupy for lunch. Decided to try this new-ish bkt shop located in people's park centre.

The owner was rather helpful and explained the various cuts and gave his recommendations as well.

They were rather generous with the portions for the side dishes, but I couldn't say the same for the bak kut teh.I would be happier if they would give slightly more meat!

Taste wise, it's pretty authentic klang bkt, but personally I find the taste slightly lacking, and the soup not 'sticky' enough.

Bill ended up to be $30 for two pax, would definitely recommend it if you are hankering for herbal bkt!

Had the garoupa with the signature sauce, and it was good! There's a good balance between the heat and the overall taste, allowing you to taste the fish and at the same time enjoy the burn from the in house concocted sauce.

I preferred this sauce over the other 'Unique' sauce which was equally spicy, but instead of being savoury, it was quite sweet. Do remember to order the Chinese preserved meat fried rice, 'roti prata' and 'mouth watering chicken'!

Entire bill came up to around $30/pax. Worth a try if you're into spicy food!

This plate of bihun is amazing on two counts:

1. The bihun is cooked in a super sweet broth and topped with countless pieces of pork lard. The combination of the seafood broth, together with the fragrance of the pork lard pieces makes it super addictive until you can't stop slurping.

2. YMMV, but my crab was full with roe and that really was the icing on the cake. The crab was full with meat and it's just so satisfying taking in mouthfuls of crab meat with your bihun!

Total damage was $68 with portions enough for 4 people. The crab was priced at $60/kilo but I guess the price is seasonal.

Inevitably, comparison will have to be made against tendon ginza itzuki. I preferred tendon ginza itzuki because:
- the rice at kohaku is too wet
- uneven batter and burnt chicken at kohaku
- crab stick?!?!
- small prawns were given, which was coated by a thick layer of batter

However, it does have a few redeeming qualities. Service was top notch, as they replaced my burnt chicken without question when I pointed it out. Slightly better ventilation than itzuki where you don't leave the place smelling like a tempura. More comfortable to queue as it's located inside a mall.

It's not bad if you're looking for a decent bowl of tendon, but if you've had itzuki before, you'd be left slightly disappointed.

One of the best waffles I've had! Extremely crispy exterior, with a moist and eggy inside and topped with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream! I am missing it already 😍

$19.9 per pax, with an add on of $1.99 for free flow soft drinks and soft serve ice cream. I've seen a few people complain about the variety and service at Orchard, and was a bit wary going to the one at suntec.

I feel that service could be improved, as staff were not that attentive even when the place is not that full. As for the food, the meat is decent, with an OK spread of vegetables, mushrooms and sauces. Had the spicy soup base with the tonkotsu one, both of them were not bad. I quite like the spicy one as I am usually not a fan of mala soup bases where the peppercorn taste is overwhelming.

Very well cooked porridge in tiong bahru! Abit pricey ($5) for the amount of meat given, but it's a good change from all the heaty and fried food we eat everyday!

Had the medium set @ 9.90, which came with 2 mains ( I chose chicken and whiffle-egg white waffle with cheese, mushroom and spinach), one side (roasted pumpkin) and 2 toppings (corn and broccoli) taste was average, but waiting time was quite long (20 minutes) as they had to manually blowtorch each serving of chicken/fish/steak.
