Perfectly juicy, crisp chicken atop that beautiful waffle 😛 would have preferred the waffle to be slightly more substantial and dense though. A great dish regardless

Marinated for at least 2 days so that the meat is suffused in that funky prawn paste salty and sour flavour all “har cheong gai” afficionados love, the massive slabs of succulent chicken are twice deep-fried in variations of batter to achieve a shatteringly crisp and web-like outer coating that lends itself to a highly satisfying crunchiness. The flavoured rice and potent chilli sauce on the side are perfect accompaniments to the star of the dish as well.

The Dragon Chamber! Delicious set lunch that I had gotten for free through Chope's mini Instagram giveaway a few months back!
The firecracker chicken set was quite literally the bomb! Super filling!! Ordered the cheeseburger eggrolls too, and it was an explosion of flavours in the mouth, 10/10 a must order (its pretty expensive though... $16, okay lah treat myself a bit). It was shatteringly crisp, and really did taste like an actual cheeseburger.
Such a cool place, tucked away, hidden from view of the outside world... By a fridge...! Trust me, this place offers a feast for the eyes, ears, and obviously the mouth. Go check it out 🙌

Queued at Hambaobao on their 2nd last day. Even though I was early (went 30 mins before they opened), there was already quite the queue. It's my first time here, and I've bookmarked this place for a while now. The moment I heard they were closing down, I had to cancel my plans and make a trip down. I wouldn't want to give up an opportunity (possibly the final) to try their famous Pork Belly and Buah Keluak burgers. Thank God I went, because the burgers were gobsmackingly delicious. Especially the sio bak burger.
The Pork Belly burger was absolutely stacked full of pork belly slabs (4-5 slabs I believe). I kid you not, it's quite a mouthful- damn gao! At $5.50, you're definitely getting your money's worth. I never ever thought pork belly would go well on a burger, but Hambaobao proved me wrong. Shatteringly crisp, fatty, melt - in - your- mouth pork coupled with hoisin sauce, English mustard, Japanese cucumber to cut through the fattiness of the pork belly, sandwiched between toasty buttered hamburger buns. It's one of the best burgers I've ever tasted, and I'm genuinely quite saddened to know that I probably won't be having this again. You guys got to try this!
On to the Peranakan- inspired Buah Keluak burger ($5). It was quite an interesting burger experience! The patty was a combination of buah keluak and minced chicken, and it was topped with a spicy, tangy rempah, sweet chap chye, sandwiched between toasty, buttered, hamburger buns. Truly a Singaporean burger right here. However, I would definitely say it's not for everyone, and if you can't appreciate the earthiness of buah keluak, don't go for it. But I loved it!
Their hand- cut fries ($1.50) are fantastic as well, made fresh, and are legitimately hand- cut. A whole potato is cut up and put it in the fryer straight! Very thick!
I wish I could've tried their fish, pulled pork and beef burgers as well, but there's only so much I can eat in a day😅. They look really great as well, and are definitely the safer options if you're not adventurous.
Guys, I highly recommend this place, and before it closes down for good, go and give it a try. Their last day of operations is tomorrow, Saturday, 9th November. It will be the final chance to savour Hambaobao's amazing, and affordable burgers. Go early (before they open at 12pm) or you'll definitely be left disappointed as their burgers usually sell out mid- way through their business hours around 2- 3pm. I would even suggest queuing an hour or an hour and a half (remember, it's their last day!!) before they open to really guarantee your chance of trying the Pork Belly and Buah Keluak burger.
I sincerely wish Ryan and his wife all the best for the future, and thank you for serving us hungry Singaporeans all these years!

Bid my first and final goodbye to Bake Cheese Tart. Never tried it in Singapore all these years as I was overseas. Am now back, and when I heard they were closing down, I decided to make the trip to see what they really were about.
Really is a great cheese tart, I'll tell you that. The tart base did not crumble immediately and had a little bite to it, which is prefect. The cheese was very "flowy" when it was warm. But pop it in the fridge to get a nice, cheesecake - like consistency.
But I must say, for the size, the steep price tag of $3.90 for 1 is rather unjustifiable to me. Perhaps one of the reasons as to why they are closing is due to their steep price tag. Of course, demand for the tarts shot up once everyone heard they were leaving. I had to queue 20 mins for it, and there was a pretty long queue. I do wish them the best, though I'd have to be honest, if they did stay on, this is something I'll rarely see myself buying because of the price. Buying it once just to try is good enough for me.

Delicious Melon Custard Bun! Don't get fooled by the name, this treat here doesn't contain any melon. Instead, what it actually is, is a bread coated with a crisp kind of "cookie" on the outside. Very pleasant, and it really melts in your mouth. The custard filling inside was not sweet, which balances well against the crust of the bun which is moderately sweet. It's perfect for a small dessert after your meal.
Doesn't contain too many calories as well, roughly 250kcal. It's costs $3++, don't remember the exact price unfortunately😅. Something you should definitely try, quite a high quality dessert from Japan.

This has to be the best carrot cake I've ever tried. Never had one as dense and moist as Cedele's before. The cream cheese on the cake was not overpowering and balanced well with the cake. Very generous with the walnuts. I do wish the slice of cake was a little bigger. At $7.50, this does not come cheap. But it was absolutely delicious, I'll have it for the occasional treat.

Those marshmallows! It actually helps to lighten the otherwise heavy bronwnie. And they're nice to chew on, especially with the fudge. It's also big, so share this cake with someone for extra love 😁

The cake is indeed very chocolate-y. The ice cream helped to cut the sweetness from the chooclate cake though. 🍫🍰🍦
This slice of Chocolate Banana Cheesecake combines my 3 favourite flavours in a totally non sinful way. Both light and delightful, especially when paired with the golden chamomile tea. The setting feels v Audrey Hepburn kinda classy. This is a good finish to the meal and a good catch up with friends. PS. Hope to be back for the key lime pie, which I heard is the best!
