Mentaiko Seaweed Buns Morimori Yogashi is a little homely Japanese artisanal bakery located on the ground floor of the Everton Park HDB estate and right next to the famous Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh. Miss K can be quite fussy when it comes to bread and Morimori Yogashi is one of those that gets the golden ticket from her picky tastebuds 😅😅😅 Japanese bread tends to be soft, moist and fluffy. This is because they use a special ingredient known as tangzhong or cooked dough. By cooking the dough, it absorbs moisture and makes the end product more moist, airy and fluffy. Morimori Yogashi's mentaiko seaweed buns are one of their signature buns. The buns are soft, light and fluffy. I like the balance between the subtle sweetness of the bun and the savoury salty mentaiko seaweed. I do recommend that you either have them fresh from the oven or reheat them gently before having it because it would other be rather greasy. I must say though that at nearly $3 for one, their buns can be relatively pricey for a neighbourhood bakery!

Coffee Bun Not sure if it's their new product/ under R&D, but their bun was super soft and chewy?! Although wouldn't mind for the coffee flavour to be more pronounced.

Comparable of not better than Korean chicken outlets The Korean BBQ is super spicy and the Soya garlic is superb. Value for money with Burple apps. Chicken size beats KFC anytime.

Not bad! Had their 4 Wings Bundle ($9.30 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) for takeaway and they were really pretty decent! We had all their flavours and my favourite is the Soy Garlic. Heavily seasoned with umami and garlic flavours, these crispy wings got me licking my fingers! The Korean BBQ flavour is good as well if you can handle some spice. The sauce seems uncannily familiar to that of the spicy samyang sauce! Very spicy but shiok at the same time. The Honey Mustard and Black Pepper flavours were just okay. Wouldn't say their wings are one of the best I've had, but they are still of some quality. A bargain with the #burpplebeyond!

Shiok Be prepared to get your fingers messy! The full-Joint chicken are huge and drizzled with generous amount of sauce. The fries are average but good to go with the leftover sauce. I like it as much as 4fingers!

Chicken Rice When you ask about getting chicken rice at Bishan, Ming Kee will definitely on top of the list. Famous of their chilled chicken, as they put the meat in ice water after cooking; so the meat could taste more flavourful and better. Consider a much interesting method of preparing their chicken rice, this is a much whether you are in Bishan Central area looking for some food.

Cold Chicken Rice Chicken thigh rice @$6.50 Chilli was good. Chicken soft and tender. Overall satisfied.

Spicy Pork Spine Soup (XXL Size) - $58.85 Met up with my foodie friends for dinner recently at Leng Saap, a Thai eatery located at Golden Mile Tower (walking distance from Nicoll Highway Mrt) famous for their spicy pork spine soup! The pork spine soups are available in 4 different sizes: M - S$19.26, L - S$26.75, XL - S$42.80 and XXL - S$58.85 with different levels of spiciness to choose from - MILD, SPICY, HOT and HELL. We ordered the XXL SPICY spicy pork spine soup for sharing, and were immediately wowed by the presentation of the dish where heaps of pork spine were stacked like firewood in a campfire. Taste wise, the pork spine (boiled for several hours) was fork tender while the broth was tangy and really appetising! Yummy! I will definitely be back again with my friends to try some of their other dishes such as Green Curry, Papaya Salad, Deep Fried Fish Pasty and more!

Mountain of Pork! Best way to describe this is to refer it as a Thai Bak Kut Teh; just with 10 times the portions of pork spine stacked high up before being doused in a sour, tangy and spicy broth 👌🏼 Smallest portion goes for $18, but to get the best bang for your buck, go with a larger group of friends and just order the largest portion!

Thank God Leng Saap at Golden Mike exists, we miss it so much. This popular Thai dish that is sold mainly at Bangkok’s Rot Fai Train Markets featured a gargantuan pile of pork spine doused in a tangy, spicy and zesty sauce that’ll leave your noses dripping and your eyes watering. You can get yourself this mountain of tender, succulent pork spine at Golden Mile Tower. Prepare multiple glasses of water when eating this; you’ll need it!

Man Tou With Char Siew So freaking good. The fats of the char siew literally melts in your month!!!!!!!

Ondeh Ondeh | $3 While some may complain how the ‘skin’ of this ondeh ondeh is thick, I absolutely appreciated it. The texture of the ‘skin’ was amazing, soft yet chewy at the same time, while encapsulating an oozy, thick gula Melaka filling. Best part? It wasn’t too sweet. I can’t stand ondeh ondehs that are too thin, and fillings which feel like they’re just made of sugar, without any real substance. So this was really worth the experience, and to me, worth the price. Good food but Burpple menu is limited Had the prawn mentaiko pasta, plus the cauliflower side and the ribs. We went there wanting to utilise the Burpple deal but were told that all the mains we wanted were excluded from the deal. A bit of a downer, seeing as there aren’t many dishes on the mains and pasta list to begin with. Nonetheless the food was still good and worth a try - hopefully it’ll be included in the Burpple deal next time though

Won’t Be Back We utilised the 1for1 and the Waitress didn’t sound happy about that, then abruptly told us to cancel our Chope reservation so they wouldn’t be charged. Not a request and no “please” or “thank you”. We didn’t feel good dining there tbh and decided we wouldn’t come back before even having tried the food. Do take note their menu is different from the one listed on Burpple, some items have been taken off or replaced. We left with our food half eaten but I shan’t comment further since our tastebuds could already have been skewed by the not very pleasant experience.

Catch Of The Day ($18) Catch of the Day ($18 before GST) - pan seared fish with house special sauce and fermented yuzu chilli on the side. Fish was nice and tender, sauce was sweet and creamy. The chilli came in such a tiny dot on the plate that I almost missed it out - but it was strong and flavourful, a pity that I couldn’t taste the Yuzu in it.

Soya Sauce Chicken - Small ($6.50) Yet another place on my to-go list that is closing, so I had to quickly go try. Didn’t expect much given the mixed reviews but I thought it was not bad, enjoyed my lunch. The chicken is lean yet soft, I can’t say it’s v tender but it’s not dry. I’ve had smoother chicken though. The skin of the chicken was v tasty, that’s where the marinade went. Rice is p fragrant, could smell the aromatics like ginger/garlic infused into it. Texture was fine, it has a bite to it and rice grains were separated, yet not dry. The sauce is viscous and sweet like honey ish and not salty?? Not what I expected soya sauce chicken’s sauce to taste like. Chilli is sour and q refreshing, with a mild spiciness. Soup is not v nice. Overall I thought it was not bad and I would recommend you to try before it closes permanently! Portion was also quite reasonable for the price, place was well-ventilated. A shoutout to the servers who were v efficient and managed the queue well.

Roast Meats LFKN needs little introduction for serving soya sauce chicken since 1968. One thing I first noticed was they did not have a menu in-store. We went ahead to order their most popular soya sauce chicken, double mix of roast pork & char siew, dumpling soup and rice/noodles to go with the meats. The tender and succulent soya sauce chicken was so soft and flavourful. I like how the braised sauce is thick and savoury yet not too overpowering. The roasted pork was done to a nice crisp with a good ratio of fat to meat while the dumpling soup turns out pretty average. I preferred noodles over rice for its al-dente springy bite without the strong alkaline taste as the oil rice somehow lacks fragrance. Pear Tart! Have actually seen and walked past YM Bakery at PLQ mall multiple times, however this is my FIRST time trying it! They are an unpretentious no-frill bakery! They have a wide selection of tarts, and at affordable pricing! Ordered a Peary Peart Tart ($27.50) to celebrate a family birthday occasion! Pear tarts are quite rare to find, and this was a masterpiece! I especially loved the buttery crispy hard crust shells! The pear was also so nicely poached! If you are ordering whole tarts, you can FB msg them to make your reservation 2 days beforehand. Payment will be required via paynow/paylah to confirm your order. You can inform them whether you want your tart cut/uncut. They also provided complimentary Happy Birthday sign and candles!

Baguette everything Garlic Toast ($1.50) was decent. Had the Hazelnut Lava and Portugese tart for breakfast the next day and they were also alright (after heating up, of course). The hazelnut lava was pretty substantial and the baguette base was surprising and complimented the lava quite well. Portugese tart was meh.

Apple Lava I don't have much else to say about them already hahaha. I started eating them when they were a fledgling business.
