Hot and sour chazuke is clearly my favorite dish in the menu. The tantalizing and tangy flavors always managed to tease my tastebuds and perk up my appetite. Besides enjoying my favorite dish, my favorite chef always make it a point to sit down with me for some quick catchup.

Due to Covid-19, many restaurants are trying to boost their businesses by offering delivery. @birdsofafeather is also offering delivery to those in walking distance from the restaurant. Plus you get a complimentary cup of coffee.

Brought back memories of the days in Hokkaido last November.

Feast your eyes on the flowy sexy soft boiled egg (ikura onsen). An enjoyable slurp! Hirame (flounder) with truffle that brought up the umaminess of the fish. Grilled wild kuruma ebi mentayaki, torched and exuding that wokhei aromatics. Nagasaki Chanpon (Noodles with Seafood and Pork cooked with Vegetables in Soup) is a must order if you crave for a more comforting meal.

The noodles was my favorite as it had that clean taste, something which I would cook at home. Chef Thomas Kok @botanjapanese was the chef that introduced japanese food to Singapore in the 1980s. With over three decades of experience, his passion is still seen through his food.

Little pomfrets fried till crispy. Pepper and salt for taste. Spread alittle or alot of sambal belachan on it. The whole fish is edible except for the skeleton bone in the middle. Simply shiok!

This was a must order as echoed by my foodie gang. How to say no when Zam Zam has more than 20 years of "murtabaking"? The murtabak did not disappoint. Well panfried till crisp and stuffed with beef, it was almost bursting at the seams. If it gets alittle dry, curry gravy by the side for dunking.

Always fun hanging out with the gang. I think it will be a long while before we can meet again as we play our part by social distancing.

Mei Yuen has been one of my favorite wanton mee haunts. Charred charsiew, crackling roasted pork and roasted duck with my springy noodles never fail to disappoint me.

Sitting on wobbly chairs in a very last century kopitiam really puts one in a nostalgic mood. The wear and tear through time is obvious. I cannot envisage how long more it is going to be here. One thing for sure, I will keep coming back for that plate of comforting noodles. Alittle bit on my part to support our local businesses during these trying times.

Sweet looks. Sexy chocolate flow. Drove the salivatory glands in a frenzy. A hint of alcohol permeated from the sponge could be perhaps the draw for non dessert fans to take the sweet road less travelled.
