The Square at furama has an international buffet, including roast cuts like lamb and beef, but my favourite goes to the salmon sashimi! The aglio olio deserves a mention too. Some cuts may be tougher. (~$53 before gst for dinner on weekends, with extra charges for drinks)
If you love cheese and mushrooms, this glorious sandwich will be extremely satisfying. Grilled brioche with stringy cheese and earthy mushrooms, coated in a rich dill mayo for $13.20 (incl GST) was more filling that expected. However the dill mayo may get a little too rich after awhile. Also, it comes with chips by default, but you can opt for Rocket salad with vinaigrette too!
Ps. Definitely a good brunch place, though not advised to study here during weekends, and power plugs not avail on sat/sun too.
with an explosion of flavours - delicate skin enclosing a generous serving of pork and broth!! Plus it goes for $8 for 10 dumplings and it's almost *instant*. Love it.
The Seafood Pancake (haemul pajjeon) deserves a shout-out and was cleared in no time. The grilled squid within it was the highlight for how smokey and chewy it was. Plus, it was enwrapped in the crispy pancake and was not at all oily.
Plus the half and half chicken is crispy outside and soft inside!!! It's either the fried crispy chicken or this tangy garlic soy sauce chicken. For $35 its serving was good to share amongst 5 people. Korean food is indeed great for sharing :-)
Place and food are both authentic and we were lucky to get a nice corner without any queue.
Some homely tastes here with nourishing dishes - my favourite is the deep fried sea bass in superior soy that is crisp at the right parts and tears apart softly too.
The chicken in mushroom broth was comforting and is a feast of mushroom. Chicken was tender and does pair well with their special chili.
The Nanping noodles was good and tasted like home, like a treasure trove with clams, prawns, and even bits of scallops.
Ofc the indispensable xiaolongbao 👍
Overall, will come back!
I love how I get to have my own individual grilled fish AND get to try other flavours too when with a friend! Plus the sauerkraut fish hits right up my alley with it's sourness and peppercorn bits. For a portion for one, it's very generous and I love how the skin is so flavourful and retains bits of it's crispiness while immersed in the broth.
Highly reco to get a set at $11.90+ 2 side, rice and a drink for $3 more. The best part of this is how swift they serve the fish.
New pilot store which opened up ~4 months ago, and more to come. Will support 😍
A fuss free experience here - I like the comforting and fluffy waffles ($6). While I went for the ricotta cheese with pistachio bits (premium flavour -$5), I felt that its tastes resemble vanilla instead and probably will try other flavours next time
Opened by an ordained nun, it is like a respite here, it's quiet and the staff are warm & friendly. We had the dessert Sesame paste ($4.50) & Almond paste ($3.80) and brought our own weiqi board to play. The dessert was thick, creamy and grainy. I particularly love how rich the sesame paste was.
Plus, it fits our weiqi time with yinyang elements. Ps. Prices are nett.
Both at $6.50, it's a tough choice which to go for - generous cuts and they're all well seasoned with pepper and chewy (a feat for pork chops especially). Personally prefer the more tender chicken chop and some parts crispy
Topped on the eggy fried rice that's not too greasy, this serves as a filling, savoury treat. (Ps. Look at how yellow & eggy the fried rice is)
There's a queue even if you come here at it's opening hour of 8am on weekends, testament to how trusty this breakfast place is. A call out to the good o' breakfast diners in hongkong, the prices are kept reasonable, wide range in it's menu and you have to be patient while queueing.
I love this creamy scrambled egg on warm, crispy toast. The eggs are generously overflowing and tastes creamy and not salty. Plus, it's for $3.30 nett - what a steal.
Ps. Warm luo han guo for $1.50 comes in a large serving
We enjoyed our dinner with their donburis - aesthetically presented in wooden boxes. The Salmon Avocado don ($20.80) comes with fresh chunky salmon with a welcomed tinge of wasabi, and the Salmon Mentai Aburi Don for ($18.80) comes with a heap of ikura and fragrant aburi slices too.
We also ordered the lobster sushi rolls as a side- crisp and captures the lobster salad
Ps. Along Boat Quay area, this is a cosy place with 5g wifi, and extremely friendly owners 👍
A new bbt chain opened and it has cute otters and refreshing ice slushies.
We had the tea jelly coconut shake 💯💯, which was a good mix of fragrance and coconut bits & the peach yoghurt drink that's both thick and sweet. Both are refreshing!
Welcome to the Bishan Hood
