I'm wowed by this dish - Boulevard St Michel ($25) and will come back for it solely. Wild honey mastered this french brioche toast that was double baked with cheese but is ever so fluffy.

It comes with unique sides like spinach soufflé (yums) and two parmesan crumbled poached egg that breaks into it's flowy goodness as you cut into it. Plus, grilled bacon, tomatoes to complete it. A savoury feast put together.

This kopitiam has a lot of wanton noodles and I like this version, springy noodles doused in light sauce, with my favourite being the soup dumplings - light, fluffy and serves a chewy bite. For $3, it is extremely filling

This pot of creamy and rich pumpkin fish soup with little chunks of yam tastes so nourishing and hearty. I love it for it's unique pumpkin taste that makes it sweet and finished it to the last sip. For $6.90, it stands out amongst other fish soups - plus those slices of batang fish were thick and fresh.

Ps. This is just next to Bishan Park 2

Miznon is SG's first Israeli restaurant and we were delighted to get our hands on these stuffed pita pockets - opened by MasterChef Israel judge.

🫓 They have the fluffiest pitas, and it is also a complimentary free flow side that comes with it's delicious tahini sauce (and jalapenos but it's too strong for me)

🥙 The Abu Kebab pita was well stuffed with chewy beef and lamb meatballs that delivered strong flavours and compliments the slight dose of sour cream and salsa. ($24 - recommended order)

🧆 the Falafel pita is great with the falafel patty so rich with earthly flavours and not too dry. There are some sneaky onions which gives it an additional punch. Heap on more tahini for that creamy mix. ($14).

Ps. If you don't like pickles, you can request for it to be excluded when you order

Just next to a corner of Bishan Park is this Ramen place that has this tender and fragrant aburi chicken ramen going for $5.90.

What an absolute steal given how it tastes so nourishing, not too salty and how the chicken has been boiled to capture the briny essence of the broth, and so tender that the meat simply falls apart. The aburi taste on it's seared skin elevates the taste of this humble ramen bowl. The yellow eggy noodles are very chewy and springy. This dish is very well mastered.

Nestled in Laselle is one chill cafe where everyone seem so engrossed in books and laptops on a Saturday afternoon, plus their drinks are also great - $3.80 for honey green tea and $5.80 for a really thick hojicha latte. You can also find really cosy sofas and warm lighting here. Plus wifi!

This famous chain from Chengdu has been on my to try list - and it's amazing.

Firstly, the 3 flavour pot! It goes for $18 (same for all other combi of soups) and we must say the Buttery Mala soup, Mushroom soup and Tomato soup was all 💯💯💯.

Next, how is it possible that they have such creative meat dishes (e.g. pork ribs with cumin, bacon with enoki) and they all go for $6-$8 mostly for half portions. We were absolutely spoilt for choice.

Lastly, aaaah, their sauces!!! They recommend their Sichuan sauce which consists of spring onion, coriander, garlic, oyster sauce and a whole lotta mala oil. Just dip your meat in and it pairs perfectly.

(~$35 per pax. There's some chope discount to explore)

New store in the AMK hood, that offers delectable dons & noodles for pocket friendly prices - I like that they also have greens & reds tomatoes that brightens up the bowl.

Grilled salmon + kimchi, with a runny egg ($8.90) paired with meekia, which reminds us of the good o indomee, and it's not too salty

Lu rou fan ($6.90), generous portions of braised meat with 1:1 ratio with the fats, though meat is on the chewier sides, we enjoyed it.

Xin Mei Xiang's famed Lor Mee extended to a new outlet at Balestier. For $6 for it's normal bowl, we get a consistently thick and savoury zhap (sauce) that blends so well with the mix of garlic, coriander leaf, vinegar and what's special about theirs is the delicious fish flakes (it's fishy taste is extra aromatic) and it's thick pork belly.

Finally got a chance to try it when we went early - which you'll have tough luck at its original Old Airport Road outlet

Ps. This store is co owned by NOC's foodking Ryan 🤙

Lovely place with the best Nyonya food I've had. The Ayam Buah Keluak was especially memorable with the meat fully immersed in the rich jackfruit seeds (and cooked for 7 days!). They also serve bluepea rice that smells so fragrant. Impeccable and friendly service too!

This place truly deserves it's Michelin awards.

I'll be back for these authentic Nyonya food.

If you made it to seletar, do check out this lovely cafe housed in an old Colonial House - it's combined with a pet boarding house/hotel and while we were dining, a Samoyed and Chowchow roamed free and said hello 🐶!! Meeting these friendly, cuddly dogs depends on their boarding schedule and we met these two.

Also, their pistachio yoghurt tart here is delicious - creamy, light and topped with pistachio crunch. Beautifully plated on a marble plate. The slight cracks didn't deter us at all (~$7)

The root beer float comes with lots of ice cream flavours, names inspired by the chowchows and dog residents here. We got the Snow White vanilla with root beer ($9.50).

Absolutely worth it for a idyllic afternoon with some fluffs and games! We played connect 4.

Freshly shucked oysters! We can't resist getting a dozen, dousing them with lemon and popped them right in. During their happy hour (5.30-7pm on weekdays), it's $1.50 each. It did feel more hit than miss, the hits being really juicy and leaving a sweet aftertaste, while the missed can be more bitter, acrid taste. Overall, will still recommend this platter 🦪
