Got to admit I was quite skeptical about the combination of broccoli with red sugar and papadum at first, but these smokey florets proved to be the tastiest I've ever eaten. Even if you don't like broccoli, try this; it may just change your mind!

Comes with two scoops of dark chocolate sorbet and vanilla bean ice cream as well as a mini jug of espresso kahlua sauce on the side. I liked that the ice cream weren't overly sweet, but overall these waffles were nothing to write home about.

For me, the make-or-break factor of a pasta dish is often its sauce, and tomato based ones are the most difficult to get right in my opinion. Thick with puréed tomatoes and more sweet than sour, I'm glad that this one here is more than satisfactory!

This was unexpectedly good! In fact I find this the most successful rendition of any pasta dish infused with local elements, such as chilli crab pasta, that I've come across so far. The laksa sauce was like a concentrated version of the usual laksa gravy, very rich and aromatic with hints of hae bee. So tasty I could probably still devour the entire plate even if it's just the sauce and noodles alone! 😋

Ordered this with the thought that all deep fried cauliflower would taste as good as the ones I had at The Banana Leaf Apolo some months ago, but sadly these had a raw bitter taste and came nowhere close.

Really strong cup of latte they have here! Which I do like. A pity I could only manage to finish half before it gave me a terrible headache. The cafe is really spacious and pleasantly quiet even on a Sunday afternoon, just perfect for escaping the weekend crowd.

Not sure if it is just a one-off thing but yesterday the chef seemed to have been too liberal with the amount of salt! Even my boyfriend who takes sodium well found every dish to be more salty than he would prefer, and our lips continued to tingle from the after effects way after the meal. On another note, I like the laid back, chill-out vibes of this place, and how they've got not just regular tables but also round communal tables perfect for cosy group dinners.

It's already been 2 days since my restaurant week dinner at Privé grill, and still I can't get over how satisfying and delicious this was. The flambeed lobster tail is the most succulent lobster I have ever eaten, and the herbed mushroom risotto, which reminded me a little of potato gratin, was just as excellent. From the first to last mouthful I couldn't stop gushing to my boyfriend how much I adore this dish! Really wish they could include this on their regular menu; I so want to have this again!

Felt rather bummed out when i realised that their crispy seafood cheongfun is no longer on their new menu! We made do with the 6 dimsums pictured above, amongst which we liked the flowy liu sha baos and deep fried seafood rolls best. Skip the xiaolongbaos though; the meat filling was rather tasteless.

We're all used to our duck confit being served on a bed of mashed potato, so the uncommon pairing here of duck leg and a sautéed corn-and-cucumber ragout, as well as puréed pumpkin sauce, is like a breath of fresh air! This combination is not only innovative; the resulting flavors and textures are pleasing on the palate, and definitely adds on a healthy touch! As with the salmon in my previous post, the duck leg too is expertly executed to impressive fork-tenderness!
