Afternoon Coffee

though this was only because brawn&brains was closed 🙊 And how I regret not having been here earlier! Their hot mocha is awesome, and the matcha latte, though rather sweet, is also one of the best ones I've had. I guess they must use pretty fine quality cocoa and matcha powder here!

Really strong cup of latte they have here! Which I do like. A pity I could only manage to finish half before it gave me a terrible headache. The cafe is really spacious and pleasantly quiet even on a Sunday afternoon, just perfect for escaping the weekend crowd.

I always have a hard time deciding between a mocha or latte, because the former may turn out too sweet or weak in coffee flavor while the latter too acidic for my liking. Glad my choice of latte today didn't disappoint!

Not sure why but there was this odd medicinal aftertaste that was so bad I couldn't bear to drink it any further after 3 sips. Furthermore I was told prior to ordering that this batch was just freshly brewed that afternoon. Sigh! 😣

Instead of the usual cookie, coffee here is served with a cube of brownie which I thought was even better than some of the ones you actually pay for elsewhere. Shows the effort they put even into the small details :)

and yet the thought of ice cubes diluting your coffee makes you frown, then this is absolutely the perfect answer!

Got a really bad headache after drinking this, does that mean there's more caffeine in their coffee?

Finding this a little sweeter than I'd like it to be.

And I'm glad I did! It was thick and creamy, and I really appreciate how the level of sweetness was just right, so I could still taste the natural bitterness of quality matcha.

But never mind, this cafe is still one I'd return to. Not just because they serve atypical cafe food that's delicious to boot, but I am also very much impressed with the warmth and friendliness extended by the service crew. One of them whom I think is the mum of the cafe's owner, thanked me a gazillion times after I agreed to change seats so as to accommodate another group of patrons. And also, their standard of cleanliness can't get any higher; I saw them sanitizing every table and even chairs after a customer has left the place!
