The Sweet Stuff
If you look around in this popular dessert shop, it's likely you'll see a bowl (or more!) of this bestselling durian sago on every table. Topped with a generous dollop of bittersweet durian purée, it's not hard to see why this little bowl of smooth creamy goodness is such a crowd pleaser!
A little disappointed with this one, since Miam Miam is pretty popular for their desserts. The taste of chocolate wasn't pronounced enough and the insides were too moist. I did enjoy their matcha latte very much though!
Comes with two scoops of dark chocolate sorbet and vanilla bean ice cream as well as a mini jug of espresso kahlua sauce on the side. I liked that the ice cream weren't overly sweet, but overall these waffles were nothing to write home about.
Always found the pastries here to be delightful and this one is no exception. The curd was softer and the crust more brittle than usual (and maybe that's because it came just fresh out from the kitchen and didn't have time to "set"), but together they tasted great anyway! I personally also think that anything with yuzu is bound to please!
A very light chocolate cake that is made up of more sponge than cream. Thankfully the sponge cake was moist and airy, kinda like a chiffon. I also tasted bananas, which was unexpected. Overall not bad but I definitely like my chocolate cakes richer, denser and more decadent.
Look at its intricate interior, which speaks of the effort and dedication that goes into the making of each tart. Taste wise, this is also easily one of the best tarts I've had.
This place has been on my bucket list for the longest time but slowly forgotten until I saw danielfooddiary's post recently. And I have to agree that this is surely one of the best tiramisu around! U can tell from the photo how moist it is, with just the right ratio of ladyfingers to mascarpone. The bittersweet taste of kahlua is also clearly evident, which I find usually less prominent in other tiramisu cakes I've had. Overall this didn't feel too heavy on the palate, and I can easily finish 2 slices on my own!
My friend liked this so much, we ordered a second one right after. Try requesting for this to be served chilled like we did, which I feel beats the original room temp version with its cool, firmer ganache that later melts away in the mouth.
So unbelievably delicious for a dessert that's actually healthy and good for you!
Apart from the white chocolate cream that tasted too milky for me, what laid underneath was surprisingly pleasant: a strong matcha flavored filling with just the right amount of sweetness, and a perfectly matched layer of fine azuki bean paste.
Can't help comparing this to G Patiserrie's G Spot, and Two Baker's version gets my vote for its less-sweet praline layer and the extra ring of crunchy nuts decorating its base. Quite pricey, but I'd say this cake is worthy of its $9.80 tag.
