From the crisp and tasty suckling pig to comforting ee fu noodles to sweet and sour pork to amazing cabbage in chicken broth to slightly fatty char siew with slightly roasted flavour etc. And not forgetting the super affordable and delicious dim sum available on weekends and their nai cha and yuan yang. ๐ข @imperialtreasuresg has many different concepts but nanbei was our favourite. .

Here is an update on my favourite prawn noodles stall. The elderly uncle of #DaDongPrawnNoodles has been recovering from a fall but fortunately, his son Watson has been manning it with his mum, so customers can continue to get their fix.
I have been there twice during this time and was very pleased to find that nothing has changed and most importantly, the broth tasted just like how his dad has always made it. That rich stock of prawns and pork ribs coupled with the subtle sweetness from loads of garlic, is as fabulous as ever. In fact, I would not have been able to tell any difference had I not witness Watson doing the cooking. I was also glad to see that he has re-introduced kangkong because I've always liked that vegetable in my prawn noodles.
The good news is his dad is definitely on the mend, so I'm sure I'll be seeing uncle back at the stall soon enough.
If you're not feeling the red meat today, you can always opt for their Mentaiko Salmon! Honestly when it arrived, we were pretty surprised (pleasantly) at the size of the slab of salmon in front of us!
The salmon itself was executed really well, soft on the inside while getting a nice char on the outside. Topped off generously with the mentaiko sauce, tobiko, slices of soy(maybe?) garlic and spring onions, every mouthful was delish. One small gripe though was that the rice was flattened to form a flat surface, so the rice was smushed together a little bit but other than that, a very value-for-moolah bowl! ๐
Misato's chawanmushi is delectably silken and especially flavourful from the homemade dashi stock used. The imported surimi is a cut above your average supermarket garden variety too, and tastes almost like snow crab.

The pork rib is my favourite, delicious and tender. Perfectly done Risotto is rich without being heavy. Yummy! ๐
