Super generous servings of salmon!! I was expecting pieces of thin salmon 'Kiap' inside the sandwich, but this is like opened up and a lot of salmon on each side. Totally love it! And the smoked salmon taste so fresh and nice, with the sauce and the cream cheese on the bread. 👍🏼
Didn't look very fantastic when the young lady was preparing it, but it taste really good! The beef brisket sauce is really good. And the wanton from this stall is quite value for money too. Worth a try!
After my first experience at Botan Japanese restaurant, I simply couldn't wait for the chance to go back there. Indeed, it didn't disappoint me. Love the dinner set there, with the variety of food on each set, it feels like I'm eating a buffet!!! The only description I could make out to intro to my friends is WOW, the food is just wow lor! Hahaha! I'm not a gourmet but I can tell the freshness of the sashimi, and the crunchiness of the tempura. 100000 likes! Definitely worth every dollars and cents. :)
That's an actual rosebud perched on top of the frosting which indicates how seriously they take the rose element here. I myself like floral flavoured desserts but the fragrance of this Ispahan cupcake bordered on the overwhelming for me. That aside, the cupcake was very moist and fluffy as always. And there were pieces of fresh juicy lychee tucked into the middle of it.
Coming in at 21 inches, this pizza is a sight to behold. On one half we had parma ham with a heaping portion of rocket, and on the other was suprema (which wasn't as good as the ham). They were quite generous with the ham, although the pizza itself was not very impressive and was a little soggy in the middle, probably due to its size. Having said that, it could definitely fill up 5-6 people, and overall not too bad.
Unless you're getting the Cocoa 100 ($12.90), don't expect a super thick hot chocolate from here. Although I like milk chocolate, I found the Cocoa 38 a tad too sweet for my liking. I'd recommend the Cocoa 76 ($7.90) for a velvety cuppa with just the right amount of bittersweet. And say yes to that cinnamon stick to infuse a spice-kissed hint that is reminiscent of Christmas. I'll definitely be back for the Signature Cocoa Colony Gelato (peanut butter and chocolate!) and the Amazonian Liquid Gold ($2/cup; milk, white and dark) flowing right out of gleaming taps!
Guess what's underneath that furnace-looking thing? (Okay, the name gave it away.) It's Italian spaghetti, cooked in Japanese steamed style. The portion is super generous, if you're not a big eater you better share!! Their smoked salmon comes in a chunk the size slightly smaller than my palm, not just the normal thin pieces! Though the place is on the pricier side, but excellent service by these kawaii hardworking Japanese ladies. They gave me and my friend a piece of homemade focaccia each when we paid our bill because they can tell how much we enjoyed it! How sweet is that right? Oh, did I mention they serve alcohol? Sake, wine, cocktail, beer. It's like a 居酒屋! This is the first time I'm sharing on burpple because this is totally the place that needs to be on your list! Great for a hangout with friends! :D
Let this Mac and cheese infused waffles be the one thing to try here! Crisp waffle went well with the texture of the macaroni. The fragrance of the slight truffle and cheese complemented the batter well. The jalapeño didn't add much to the dish (not a fan of jalapeño in general). Dip the waffle into the tangy and slightly spicy sauce for a whole new level of awesome!
Having eaten a couple of tarts before, this is the first time that I've actually conquered 8/10 tarts within a week. Was stoked to find out that Cheryl just revealed a tart sweet pineapple in a strawberry form.
Featuring the forefront Pineberry tart, an exotic fruit that’s extremely juicy, sweet and has a highly aromatic flavour more akin to a pineapple, but bears the white strawberry appearance.
Also tried their fresh Lemon Tart, Passion Fruit Meringue, Strassberries, Pistachio, Cacao Barry, Caramel Hazelnut and Indian Alphonso Mango. Last two not-so-exciting flavours yet to try would be the Coffee and Mixed Berries tart.
The gourmet waffle was very bland, but well made - crispy outside, fluffy inside. The star of this place has to be the gelato! Definitely one of the best gelato around in terms of texture and taste. My favourites are the pistachio which was nutty and fragrant, and the butter beer - think pastry fragrance with alcohol. The salted egg sauce that came with it was very watered down, and didn't add anything to the waffles. The caramel sauce on the other hand, was heavenly - not too sweet and earthy. Not a fan of lavender so I found the petals a weird addition. Scoop of gelato is rather small, and premium flavours cost $4.50.
