Crispy fried chicken chunks that were flavourful and easy to eat. The waffle came looking impressive - tall and well browned, and indeed it was crispy outside, fluffy inside. The batter is on the sweet side, closer in taste to pancakes. Douse the maple syrup for added sweetness though I find the waffle to be good enough on its own.
Crispy crab cakes with a spicy béchamel filling. Seasoning is a bit heavy but I loved it! The hollandaise sauce was a bit too tart but the crab cakes were absolutely fine on their own. Great appetiser to get! Priced at $15.
Lamb chop was average, wasn't cut cleanly though as there were some bone splinters. The mint yogurt and apricot bits felt out of place. Cous cous was rather dry and oily. Overall not something I would get again. Priced at $15.
Scrambled egg was done pretty nicely. The guacamole tasted woody and stale. The pumpkin seeds adds a nice texture to the toasted multigrain bread. Priced at $10.
Very much enjoyed the mac and cheese. Chunks of tender and juicy chicken with an assortment of portobello and shimeji mushrooms. The seasoning is similar to what you will find in gourmet sausages and it complements the creamy sauce well. Topped with chicken skin which resembles chicken floss in taste. $14 well spent!
Quite a light version of cottage pie. The potato and cheese seems to be blended into a foam like consistency and you don't get the heaviness of it here. Ground meat was good, with a light seasoning. Reasonably priced at $14 nett. On weekdays, the lunch set is $16 which comes with a coffee of your choice.
Delicious fried soft shell crab which had plenty of roe! Chunks of crab meat thrown in as well. The cheese was amazing but the rice was a letdown as it was a bit grainy. For the portion, it's pretty worth it at $25++.
Fresh seafood with an array of prawns, squids, mussels and tempura white bait. The prawns were a bit overcooked though, being slightly tough. The squid ink pasta was rather bland, but was saved by the bird chillies and tempura which brought the dish to life. Get this if you are in the mood for something light. Priced at $25++.
Chicken was tender but the darker meat was a little bloody around the bones. A bit under-seasoned, but the accompanying Thai chilli dip was superb! Fries were good and crispy. Priced at $16+.
Stir fried lamp chop with tenderised and well marinated meat. The tart blueberry sauce was quite enjoyable with the lamb. Choice of cous cous or fries, chose the former which had an oriental flair with dang gui and wolf berries which was interesting! Priced at $20+.
The burger patty is made of crab and seafood, kind of reminiscent of nonya otah, which I adore. Yuzu coleslaw brought a refreshing zest to the burger. The thick cut fries were crispy and full of potato!
The seasoning of the chicken is spot on - classic blend of five spice which brought an oriental flair. Like Peking duck, the skin is wonderfully crisp and flavourful. Unfortunately, the meat was a little dry. The smoked ginger plum sauce helped in bringing a pleasant sweetness that tied well with the chive waffles!
