So much flavor in that foam gravy over fluffy couscous! Perfect pan-seared flaky salmon with extremely crispy skin!

Newly opened Japanese eatery at level 3 of Big Box. They serve Air-flown meat from Japan and deep-fry them to a gorgeous crispy exterior and moist inside katsu. At first I was doubtful because the set which consist of a large piece of Air-flown Pork Katsu+Cabbage side+pickle+tonjuiru soup+rice and fruits (yeah that much) was only $13.90! Turns out that the meat was really really tender! I would choose to eat here over Ma Maison at Westgate just across the street anytime. Not just because of the price but also the quality! My oyakodon set was only FIVE DOLLARS! The whole set!! /Perks of being a student. Currently they are having a 20% promotion till end October for sets! And student set price of $5 for oyakodon and katsu don (The oyakodon was crazy good too! Great sauce, tender chicken thigh and perfectly cooked runny egg over the top)

Shall continue today's pumpkin craze. Not the flowy center like their chocolate lava cube, more like a thick pumpkin puree with pumpkin seeds for the crunch. I guess I still prefer their original lava cube flavours.

Newly opened eatery by Ichiban group. Was formerly known as Ten-ichi Udon. The flavoured udon was rather unique with seasonal flavours, currently it is tomato and pumpkin flavour. Tomato taste was subtle so not overly sour but I couldn't taste the pumpkin at all 😅 The soup was tasty but not too salty. Udon was a little chewy. The price is comparable to Tamoya but the tempura here is more expensive. But I think is because the tempuras here are all giant size! $1.30 for a pumpkin temoura as big as my palm!!! Will come back here again to try the Yuzu udon next!

$20.90++ Hamachi, salmon and hotate sashimi platter <3 When it came the sashimi slices looked so fresh they were sparkling under the spotlights! True enough the fish sashimis were absolutely sweet and delicious! Texture of the Hotate was great but lacked the sweetness I expected of a Nama Hotate that looked so juicy and fresh. And I also think that the lemon between each slice was too excessive. It made the sashimi taste a little sour. But generally loved this place and will definite come back for more. Great service too!

Finally got to try GOEN's ultimate curry rice. The katsu was really crispy on the outside and the flesh was juicy and tender. I did not expect such quality because the meat pieces were fried and put out in advance. Good curry but will be better if it was spicier (singaporean style :P) Really a lot of ingredients for $19.80! Super shiok to eat!

Third time ordering but still too watery on the inside ))))): Liked the matcha cream though 😅

New Hokkaido Ryouri(Cuisine) menu at Centerpoint Ichiban Boshi. Uni, Ikura and Crab meat on sushi rice served on spoons. The uni was creamy but didn't taste fresh, there was a strong fishy taste. Crab meat didn't have much sweetness to it. But the ikura was sweet and juicy! The surprising thing was I noticed a few lavender petals on the Ikura roes and I could actually taste the mellow flowery flavour on the first bite! Loved the combination!

Freshly made Vegetarian thin crust pizza from Original sin. Interesting ingredients such as broccocini, sundried tomatoes and hummus. I was a little disappointed with the taste, the sundried tomatoes was too over-powering and I couldn't taste the hummus at all.

i braved the haze to get to my favourite bakery. Right now they are having a special 82nd anniversary tea set which includes a Hokkaido azuki swiss roll, your choice of danish and a coffee/tea. Had the fluffy green tea swiss roll with light whipped cream and almond apple croissant. The staff warned me that the croissant will get a little soggy after warming up but I didn't mind it. I enjoy hot pastries better. I also liked their sumiyaki coffee blend which had strong roasted aroma and taste. All for $8.20!

$9.60 Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee. Argued to be the best and rarest coffee in the world. Sweet fruity taste because it is grown at high altitude but it was a well-balanced cuppa, tasted sweet and crisp even when the coffee has cooled to room temperature.
