Basil crab > Basil pork. Generous amount of crab, omelette super creamy.
New classic holiday’s classic comfort flavours. Macchiato quite sweet, not bitter. Dark choco quite thick w a subtle mint taste.
[LAVENDER, SINGAPORE] I can't stress how much I feel this cafe is underrated! Their food quality is really good and they have different discounts to make it even more worthwhile 😁
Their Salmon Miso Carbonara ($24) was such a joy to have. The salmon itself was incredibly well executed, with a toasted skin and the edges and meat within was so soft and flaky. I believe this was cooked sous vide with a miso marinade, before torching it on the skin side. The carbonara itself was full on rich with cream and strong savoury miso bacon flavours, which can be quite surfeiting towards the end. As the portion size can be quite big, I would suggest sharing this!
First time trying the Kurobuta Pork Chop ($28) and definitely not the last time I'm getting this. The pork chop itself was so very tender, but very fatty so this is definitely not the healthiest 🤣 it had none of the pork odour and was well flavoured with some mushroom sauce that was on top! The portion size of this chunk of meat was quite large as well.
For sharing, do get their Brussels Sprouts ($14). With a dash of vinegar and salt that they used to season the vegetable, this rendition was kept simple and not too cloying. It was so addictive I just kept eating!
I used burpple beyond to get 1 for 1 mains here, but I saw that they have lunch and dinner deals as well to make your money worth. Do come here for their good food 😍
Duck confit is crispy on the outside & tender on the inside. Would prefer mashed instead of baby roasted potatoes.
Beef cheeks not a lot. Paired well w beef cheeks. Some meat no fats so abit dry.
Ordered one of their Signature, the Kampung chicken rice! ($6) It was super tender and savoury with juices flowing out of the chicken. Also ordered their White Pepper Claypot Chicken soup ($28 - small) , it packs a punch with its peppery taste, soothing and comforting with many chicken chunks! The soup is packed with a variety of ingredients, including black fungus and tofu skin, which are already included in the price! Additional toppings can be added for $4 each.
Apart from their Hainanese Chicken, I have also tried their other dishes such as the Kangkong ($10), Prawn Paste chicken ($14) and their Fried rice ($7). All dishes lived up to expectations, in terms of flavour and serving! (maybe kangkong can have more sambal 🤣🤣🤣)
Staffs are also super friendly and attentive! Overall, Great experience!
Mikey’s Taverna is a charming Italian eatery that offers an authentic and cozy dining experience. Perfect for a casual dinner or a comforting Italian meal with friends and family, this small restaurant captures the heart of Italian cuisine with its flavorful dishes and warm ambiance.
1. Lasagna
A comforting classic, the lasagna was layered with rich, flavorful ragu, tender lasagna sheets, and creamy béchamel. Every bite was perfectly balanced, making it a standout dish for those seeking authentic Italian comfort food.
2. Oxtail Ragu Rigatoni
The oxtail ragu was another highlight, with braised, shredded oxtail melded seamlessly into a buttery, Parmesan-infused sauce. Tossed with rigatoni, the pasta captured the hearty flavors beautifully. It’s a dish that feels both indulgent and homey.
3. Prosciutto e Funghi Pizza
The pizza boasted a thin, crisp base topped with tomatoes, fior di latte, fresh mushrooms, and delicate slices of prosciutto. The flavors were balanced, and the fresh ingredients elevated this simple yet satisfying dish.
4. Focaccia with Roasted Garlic Butter
A delightful starter, the focaccia was soft yet slightly crisp on the edges, paired with salted browned butter and roasted garlic. The combination was addictive and set the tone for the meal.
I came across this place and the place has great vibes. I ordered the duck confit and fish and chips. The ric and tender duck pairs beautifully with soft, pillowy gnocchi, creating a luxurious, savory dish. The fried fish is golden and crispy outside, with tender, flaky flesh inside. Paired with fluffy chips and rich/thick truffle sauce, it’s a perfect balance of texture and flavor. Overall, it has good vibes and food
Risotto was just severely undercooked !!!!! Told at least 2 STAFFS and they said errrr ok …. HOWEVER NO ACTION BEING DONE…. UNACCEPTABLE FOR A F&B restaurant. TRULY the worst food ever. Won’t even pay a penny for the food.
Curry don must be the same using Burpple. Comes w onsen egg. Chicken cutlet is crispy. Curry is not spicy. Portion is huge
