You can choose from various flavours and since we couldn’t decide, we went with the ‘Shanghai’ for a mix of the different toppings like preserved veg, spice, etc. Liked that they don’t fry these so it wasn’t greasy, but it’s like a biscuity flatbread with a nice crunch. It wasn’t too heavily seasoned and works well as a healthy snack.
Finally got my hands on the red bean flavour since my partner was willing to share one with me.
The red bean is outstanding - full of authentic red bean flavour .
It’s essentially like a greaseless crisp Prata and surprisingly quite light .
Best eaten when hot 😊
Get the oomph without the guilt
These flat breads are crisp and almost like a cross breed between a thin crust pizza and a cracker . Baked in a large clay oven - you get to savour a light Smokey flavour from the slightly charred parts.
Filled with your choice of either preserved vegetables , spices chilli seasoning or red bean - these snacks provide a nice a nice tea time option.
Be prepared to wait since they make your flatbreads on the spot to maintain freshness .
$2.20 | Flatbreads are baked to order using the inner surface of the clay oven. Super crispy and delicious! Love how generous they are with the red bean paste and it isn’t too sweet. Try to eat it while it’s hot as it gets soft after some time!
A healthier alternative if you’re looking for some snacks around the area!
These snacks are not fried but baked in a huge charcoal cylindrical clay ovens. We had the preserved vegetable (梅干菜) flavor and is affordably priced at $2.50. It was fragrant, salty but savory. nom nom nom nom nom!
the names are all in chinese, with mostly savoury options except one sweet (which is this!!). the flatbread is made to order; chewy and doughy at the thicker parts, crisp and light at the thinner parts! it’s served piping hot and absolutely delightful, loved the generous spread of red bread filling in the middle too :-) rich and decadent but not too sweet!
